Whatever the reason, Iam excited.There are so many options available tous when it comes to organic gardeningpractices - more on “Why Organic?” in nextmonth’s column. As we all know, jumpingdown the rabbit hole of options can bevery intimidating - It certainly was for me.This is one of the key reasons behind thepodcast “Eco Convos with Dan”.The podcast created an opportunity tohave a frank conversation with practitionersand discuss what they are doingand why they are doing it. It focuses on stratification(above and below the ground), companionplanting, and the life cycle of plants andhas proven to build extremely productivegardens in a remarkably short time.It is intensive gardening that is constantlyevolving and relies heavily on buildingbiomass which is produced by almost constantbut controlled pruning which alsoprogresses plants through their naturallife cycle at an increased rate leading toabundance while at the same time buildsmore life on and under the ground. I knowthat picturing this process may be a littledifficult and certainly cannot be explainedin 2 paragraphs, but fear not, if you areinterested to know more, it is explainedfurther in the podcast (episode 8).… and if that’s not enough, we are hostinga FREE workshop on Syntropic Agroforestryin conjunction with Davy fromSanctuary Syntropic Farm on the 18th ofSeptember.
