"We hired a vintagedouble-deckerLondon bus."We incorporated as many detailsas we could to make the venueand day unique to us. To give just aflavour, we hired a vintage doubledeckerLondon bus to transport ourguests from nearby hotels (whichalso made for some lovely photoopportunities); folded weddingbreakfast napkins as tuxedos anddresses (Robi is known for his napkinorigami); and stacked layers of miniM&S Colin the Caterpillars beneathour traditional white iced weddingcake made by Colleen’s Cakes. Wealso involved our two little Yorkies,Isla and Milly, in our day and gotsome lovely photographs with them. All Robi’s sistersdressed in traditional Indian sari’s as well, to payrespects to Robi’s Dad, which was a lovely touch.Our amazing family helped us out massively. Fromcreating our invites and stationery to playing live musicon the Friday, and our guests were treated to an amazinghand-balance act by Aeriallistique as pre-weddingbreakfast entertainment on the Saturday. I also askedone of my bridesmaids (my sister and professional singer,Faith Small) to sing me up the aisle to “Can’t Help Fallingin Love”. I’d kept this a surprise from Robi, who is a bigElvis fan, and the lyrics to that song were perfect.Live music was important to us and it really added to theatmosphere. We had an amazing string quartet from StringInfusion who played an acoustic set for our ceremonyand switched up the vibe with electric instruments duringthe drinks reception. They are incredible musicians andperformers and had our guests singing along as theyplayed the likes of Oasis and Ed Sheeran – we loved thatunexpected contrast of modern songs being played onmore traditionalinstruments. TheFuntime Frankieswere our band for theevening, alongside“DJay” from Hipswing.They were awesomeand had thedancefloor filled allevening, which wasjust what we wanted.Our best overall tip whatever your budget, is to investin your photographer and, if you can, a videographer.We fell in love with Gemma Leese’s natural photographystyle, and Capture My Big Day produce what can onlybe described as cinematic masterpieces. We are over themoon with how they both documented our story. Theycaptured every special moment and emotion perfectly,and we are so thankful that we have such gorgeousimages and footage to look back on and treasure forever.Our top tip for the day itself is to relax; be present witheach other and your guests and enjoy every moment.This is the time to let go of the reins and trust that allyou’ve planned will fallinto place, and witha team as great andexperienced as thoseat Wrenbury Hall, youknow you can do thatwith confidence. Theyreally are all amazingand nothing is too muchtrouble.
