workshops to create more jobs and enable fair pay for people in the remote
and rural area’s of 3rd world countries.

REDUCE, REUSE,
RECYCLE
An important part of creating
a sustainable future is waste
management, often indicated
by the 3 R-words; Reduce,
Reuse and Recycle. The major
part of the originalhome
collection is designed around
these 3 r’s as 65% of our
product range is made from
(organic) waste material.
WASTE IS BEAUTIFUL
We use a variety of natural
and/or recyclable waste
material like empty wine
bottles and turn them into
drinking glasses and vases
before they end up as litter
in the sea or beach. We use
discarded wood from boats,
houses, barns and trucks
and turn it into benches and
tables. Root and branch
wood is used for table and
kitchenware and we collect
waste cotton from spinning
mills and other factories to
make throws, cushions and
liners out of it.
TABLE LINEN FROM
RECYCLED GARMENT
New in our assortment is
the collection made from left
over fabrics from garment
manufactures in Bangladesh.
These waste fabrics are
collected from pre selected
factories. They are sorted on
colour, cleaned and processed
into fibres and yarn without
the use of water, chemicals or
other dyes. Our weavers from
northern Bangladesh weave
this yarn into beautiful table
cloths, napkins, plaids and
aprons by hand.
You recognize the made from
waste products by the Waste
logo.

ORGANIC SHAPES
AND MATERIALS
A huge part of conscious
living is the love of nature.
Nature is at the origin of our
brand from our designs to the
organic and biodegradable
materials we use to the way it
is being produced (by hand).
PLANT MATERIAL
Apart from waste materials,
we solely work with natural,
biodegradable plant materials
like unbleached jute,
seagrass, waterhyacinth,
rattan and banana leaf. These
plants are fast growing and
some are even considered as
waste. They are all processed
by hand, locally sourced and
sundried. Their colour can
vary per season or drying
time which gives the products
a lively shade.

FEELING CALM
Organic shapes produce
calmness and nature is full
of it. Some even say that
there are no straight lines
in nature. This is actually

why we enjoy wondering
around nature, visiting
a park, a forest or just
staring at the sea. Those
are the places where we
feel the true psychological
impact of organic forms.
We feel peaceful, balanced,
connected and we feel
comfortable in the presence
of the subtle flow around us.
We sense beauty although
we cannot grasp it.

Conscious living is not
only about nature and
understanding your impact on
your local environment and
the planet as a whole. It is
also about people. How might
it impact people in 3rd World
Countries, the poor and the
powerless? It is something
we often have no knowledge
of because it is not always
visible. It is important to be
aware of how your products
are made and by whom.

entrepreneurs in the remote,
rural areas of Bangladesh,
Indonesia and Tanzania.
We aim to create more
job opportunities in these
areas to relieve people from
poverty and unemployment.
We trade according to
fair trade principles like

fair pricing, equality, respect,
dialogue, transparency and long
term partnership. The majority
of our partners are already fair
trade certified according to WFTO,
BSCI or local certification and
we consciously support them to
conduct their business accordingly.
AID THROUGH TRADE
The pandemic has caused many
people to loose their job in the
countries we source from. It is a
devastating situation. In many 3rd
World countries there is no proper
working social security system
which causes people to live far
below the poverty line.
promotion since the outbreak of the
pandemic. Through the promotion
of our social gifts we are able to
raise money to donate food to
people in need. We don’t do this
alone but together with our resellers
and donors.
Via the Aid Through Trade
promotion we have raised over
10.000 KGS of rice for artisans
in need in Bangladesh. The Aid
Through Trade promotions are
a fixed part of our promotion
program.

destination Zanzibar in Tanzania.
This beautiful island is heaven on
earth but is very poor and lacks a
solid waste recycling program. Waste
from the tourist industry often ends
up in the sea or as landfill. The WFTO
fair trade certified workshop collects
wine bottles from hotels, restaurants
and bars before they end up as litter.
They sort, clean and expertly cut
them into different glasses, vases
and carafes and by doing so give
waste a second life.

The kitchen gifts are made
from materials that are
considered as waste and
support job opportunities in
the rural areas of Bangladesh
and Indonesia. The cutting
board is made from discarded
roots of a teak tree. The roots
are collected, cleaned and
traditionally handcrafted into
different pieces of kitchenware
and are food safe treated with
non-toxic, natural oils.
The aprons are made from yarn
that is from discarded fabrics
from the textile industry. The
aprons are handwoven by a fair
trade handloom workshop in
Bangladesh.

twice as nice. Thick Khadi table
linen is handmade from waste
cotton and the new table cloths
are made from recycled yarn
from cutting waste from the
textile industry. This special
process starts with collecting
cutting waste from selected
garment factories. Afterwards
is sorted on colour, cleaned and
processed into fibres. These
fibres are machine spun into
recycled yarn without the use of
water, chemicals or other dyes.
Both table cloths are handwoven
in a rural community in northern
Bangladesh.

The multifunctional throws and cushion covers
are made from waste cotton. The waste cotton
is collected from selected factories, cleaned and
handspun into yarn. This yarn is hand dyed and
handwoven into fabric on a traditional handloom.
The small handloom workshop is specialised in
all kinds of traditional weaving techniques and
support the local artisans. The specific handcrafted
look of the fabrics fits well with any style interior.

FABRICS
The new plaids and aprons
are made from waste
fabrics from selected
garment manufacturers
in Bangladesh. The yarn is
made from cutting waste
that is sorted on colour,
cleaned and processed
into fibres. These fibres are
machine spun into recycled
cotton yarn without the use
of water, chemicals or other
dyes. This recycled yarn is
handwoven into plaids and
aprons on a traditional loom
by skilled crafts (wo)men
who are supported with fair
wages and good working
conditions. They may not
be perfect but are 100%
original. Just like you!

barns, boats and trucks or from branches which
guarantees that not one bench or stool is the
same. The wood keeps its authentic look and feel
and can contain holes, nails, screws or bolts along
with other imperfections. Combined with natural
fibres like banana leaf, cotton or seagrass it creates
a natural organic atmosphere in a room.
