This is the Newsletter of the <strong>Jugnu</strong> <strong>Bhangra</strong> Group to keep our Members, Parents and Funders up to date with our progress. <strong>Jugnu</strong> are<br />

Kent’s premier Punjabi dance group. Our base is “THE STUDIO” Community Arts Centre, Holy Trinity School,Trinity Road, Gravesend.<br />

JUGNU TRIUMPH AGAIN!<br />

<strong>Jugnu</strong> <strong>Bhangra</strong> Group were selected as winners of the 2006 Kent Volunteer<br />

Awards - sponsored by Pfizer Pharmaceutical - for our outstanding contribution<br />

to the local community. The judges chose our bhangra boys as top of the pile of<br />

60 community groups, countywide.We were also the only group asked to perform<br />

at the presdigious Awards Ceremony at the Ramada Hotel, near Leeds Castle. Pat<br />

Marsh of Radio Kent compered the show and James Graham of Pfizer presented<br />

our trophy and certificate. After <strong>Jugnu</strong>’s performance, the High Sheriff of Kent,<br />

Amanda Cottrell came to our dressing room to praise the group for a thrilling show and for our major contribution to<br />

Kent life. This truimph followed <strong>Jugnu</strong>’s Jazz Bhanot being Highly Commended at the 2005 Kent Volunteer Awards -<br />

Sponsored by the Marlowe Theatre.<br />

THANKS to Kent Children's Fund for sponsoring our new tee-shirts and costumes and to Kent Youth Service for 2 grants<br />

towards equipping The Studio.

The Dhol/<strong>Bhangra</strong> Classes<br />

As you are aware Dhol Classes are on Monday’s from 6.45pm<br />

- 8pm and <strong>Bhangra</strong> classes are on Thursday’s as follows:<br />

Team C - 6.45pm - 7.30pm<br />

Team B - 7.30pm - 8.15pm<br />

Team A - 8.30pm - 9.30pm (During school/uni. breaks) or<br />

on Saturday 9pm (term time)<br />

Ladies <strong>Bhangra</strong> Class (JUGNI) 6.30 - 7.30pm on Wed’s<br />
