Our Reserves beat off EB Lions with a goal fest and clean sheet while our U18s lost to Wokingham & Embrook despite a battling performance. Getting to know: Bobby Lynch Bobby is a defender who is in her third season at Wycombe Wanderers. She is currently injured but is still a massive part of the Chairgirls side, supporting from the sidelines. Starting her career age 12, she has played for Cardiff City, Oxford & QPR. What are your thoughts on the season so far? It has been a mixed start to this season for us. We are going through a transition period and having to rebuild after losing a few key players over the last two very disrupted seasons. We are rebuilding though and have a very talented and positive group that are building momentum each week. On a personal note, suffering a potentially long-term injury in just the 2nd game of the season has side-lined me for now, but I’ll continue to support the girls and management however I can. Do you have a favourite memory while playing for Wycombe? My time at Wycombe hasn’t been the most straight forward, my first two seasons at the club were null and void due to COVID but I joined the club with the intention of regaining my love for the game and I have definitely done that. What would you say to any budding player thinking of joining the Chairgirls? Do it. We have 3 squads who are always looking to expand and develop. New faces are always welcome. What piece of advice would you give to a young woman thinking of a career in football? Enjoy the journey and believe in your dreams; the dream of being a professional footballer can come true now, if you work hard. There are lot of women in football now, lots of role models that show women can be involved in all aspects of football and at its highest level. Recruitment There are still some spaces in the first team squad for this season and the Chairgirls are looking for players to cover a variety of positions. Players should ideally have experience of playing at steps 4-6 but if you’re currently a step 7 player with ambition, come along to this welcoming & progressive club.
