2020 Miss Hawai‘i Chinese Princess
My beautiful journey throughout Miss Chinatown Hawai‘i has been nothing
short of a life changing experience, filled with everlasting memories. Getting to
dive into my cultural roots has made me exceptionally proud to represent such a
dignified society.
“Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort,
pain, difficulty…” The reward of becoming a Miss Hawai‘i Chinese Princess was
worth all of the trials and tribulations along the way. Of course it was also filled
with abundant amounts of joys and successes. From inspiring young women, lighting
up childrens’ hearts, helping charities, traveling to San Francisco, being in parades,
attending dinners and functions, taking self defense classes, cooking and calligraphy
classes, to blessing Chinese owned businesses, has all been an unbelievable dream
come true.
Laughs, tears, and makeup were all shared among our sisterhood. The bonds
that we built could never be broken. This pageant has contributed to shaping me into
the benevolent and respected woman I’ve always longed to become. My utmost
gratitude to everyone involved in the Miss Chinatown Organization. I could not have
made it without you. And a deep thank you to my family and friends for their loving
support. Best of luck to the 2022 contestants and I wish them good fortune!

2020 Miss Hawai‘i Chinese Congeniality
Never in my lifetime had I thought that I would participate in a
pageant. Yet I was somehow convinced and went through with it, learning
new things and making new friends along the way! Looking back and
reflecting on everything I have done, it was a great experience I would go
through again. The memories I made with my fellow court members are
priceless to me and were only made possible by this organization.
I’m so grateful for the Miss Chinatown Hawai‘i Organization for
putting this wonderful program together where I was able to learn about
parts of my culture and local communities that I had never experienced
before. This was truly the sisterhood experience I never thought I would
be able to experience. This is only possible due to the volunteers and past
court members who helped each individual girl grow.
A special thank you to my family and friends that have encouraged
me every step of the way with this journey. There were times when it was really
stressful but you guys were with me every step of the way. Without your
love and support, I wouldn’t be who I am today. It’s been an honor and
privilege to represent the Chinese community for these past two years.
