Winter 2023<br />
I don’t know what month it is, but I know it’s winter. It’s dark<br />
and it’s cold and it’s becoming even harder to survive. Every day<br />
it seems like <strong>the</strong>re’s less of us and more of <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
The world (or what’s left of it) versus <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
Alice and I were always so fixated on using <strong>the</strong> written word to<br />
try and save history. We were kids though and it was all a game<br />
back <strong>the</strong>n. We never really believed something like this would<br />
happen to us.<br />
They say that history is written by <strong>the</strong> victors. At <strong>the</strong> moment it<br />
doesn’t feel like I’m on <strong>the</strong> winning side, but if I don’t leave some<br />
record behind <strong>the</strong>n who will?<br />
