Anime

The first sports anime you should watch is ‘Haikyuu’. ‘Haikyuu’ is

about a boy named Hinata Shoyo and he is determined to be a

professional volleyball player despite his small figure. It is a comedy

though it will most likely Well known voice actors in the ‘Haikyuu’is

Ayumu Murase (Hinata shoyo’s voice actor) he plays Ryu from

Devilman Crybaby and Kenjirou Minami from ‘Yuri On Ice’.

Another well known voice actor is Yuki Kaji (voices Kenma

Kozume in the show) also voices Todoroki Shoto from

Boku No Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) and Eren

Yeager from Attack On Titan. I recommend watching this

if you're a teen and up because it does say inappropriate

words. You can find the anime on Netflix though it only

has some episodes and Crunchyroll which has all the

episodes and those low quality youtube videos is always

an option.

PAIN & SUFFERING

There are a lot of sad animes but a good one to start with is

Given. It’s about an ametaure rock band forming relationships

among them. Uenoyama Ritsuka is voiced by Yuma Uchida who

has voiced Ash Lynx from Banana Fish and Kyo Sohma from Fruit

Basket. And Akihiko Kaji is voiced by Eguchi Takuya. Other

characters he has voiced are Yūji Terushima from Haikyuu and

Koganei Shinji from Kuroko no Basuke (Kuroko’s Basketball).

Would be recommended for adults or just really angsty teens

due to it does have mentions of adult activities and mention

of suicide. And the main characters are all gay so I don’t

reccomened for people that are uncomfortable with those

topics. Can find Given on Katsu and if you are in Australia you

can watch it on Netflix. It’s also on Crunchyroll and the

live-action is also on Crunchyroll.

Everybody loves a little wholesome moment but love more

when you can always have access to it? A great wholesome

anime to start with is Ponyo. Ponyo is a 2008 film by Studio

Ghibli about a fish girl that wants to go out of the water to

meet a boy but her father doesn’t like the idea. Sound

familiar? As much as it sounds like The Little Mermaid Ponyo

has that Studio Ghibli feel to it that The Little Mermaid

doesn’t have. Someone that is pretty well-known in the music

community is Noah Cyrus who voiced Ponyo and sang the

theme song in the English dub. Pretty cool right? I would

recommend Ponyo for all ages no matter how old you are you

can never get tired of Ponyo and the song. You can find Ponyo

on HBO max. Or can try buying the DVD.

ADVENTURE

Adventure and action might be hard to choose an adventure

anime due to how much there is, it might be a bit overwhelming.

But a great adventure anime to start with is Hunter x Hunter (hunter

hunter). About a 12-year-old boy named Gon Freecss wanting to

find out why his dad left him to be a hunter so he signs up to try

and be a hunter. On the way, he makes some friends and makes

some enemies. Daisuke Namikawa voicing Hisoka Morow also

voices Oikawa Turo from Haikyuu and Jellal Fernandes from

FairyTale. Also has Megumi Han as Gon Freecss, She also voiced

Atsuko Kagari (Akko) from My Little Witch Academia and Miki

Makimura from Devilman Crybaby. And for the English dub,

Killua Zoldyck is voiced by Cristina Vee who has voiced Ladybug

from Miraculous and Sailor Mars from Sailor Moon.

Recommended for teens and up cause it mentions pedophilla

and violence.

Departure

ROMANCE

We all love a nice cheesy love story. A nice one to start off

with is, Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun. About a girl that dreams of

having a boyfriend and summons the seventh wonder that

has been told to be able to grant wishes. It’s a very cute love

story but there is violence and not kid friendly jokes in it so I

would not recommend it for people that are uncomfortable

with those subjects. Megumi Ogata who voices Hanako in this

also voiced Nagito Komaeda from danganronpa and Shinji

Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Another voice actor,

Yuma Uchida plays Minamoto Kou in the show. He also plays

Megumi Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen and Kyo Sohma from

Fruit Basket.
