NEW DAY
a new day is dawning . . .
At the end of July, Kim became CEO and majority owner of Greatland
Laser. As co-founder and part-owner, she has been with the company
parttime since 1998. Now, as fulltime leader, her focus is on innovation.
Lookout for upcoming changes including:
• New, environmentally friendly packaging
• Expanding safety accessories
• A fresh, modern look that reflects our customers
• Offering opportunities and information to customers through social media
A native Floridian, Kim graduated from the Florida State University earning a
Master of Accounting degree and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. Her
career began as a CPA working for Arthur Young’s Entrepreneurial Service Group in California and later traveling
overseas for the Walt Disney Company as an auditor and financial analyst. In 1995, Alaska captured her
heart and she moved here to launch an air cargo company flying freight to rural Alaska. That company was
later sold when Greatland Laser took off.
Kim resides in Willow, Alaska with her husband, Tryg, and their two dogs where they enjoy the many outdoor
activities Alaska has to offer.
Rescue Laser Light 5 stars
“Bought one in 2002. It has been in my pack on nearly every outing, from interior and arctic Alaska, California
and Arizona and New Zealand and Australia. I never needed it, but it shown bright for every test before
a trip. I’m getting one for my granddaughter now that she is accompanying me on adventures. I tested this
at the airfield at McGrath and you really can see this well over a mile in daylight.”

Rescue Laser Flare ® Magnum
“It does what they say it does. Great effectiveness, hours of usage and immensely durable. This is going to
be required in my emergency kit from now on.”
- Ramon, October 9, 2021
Green Rescue Laser Flare ®
“This is a useful safety essential whether on land or on water.”
- Donald Campbell, July 11, 2021

Why, and what it means to us at Greatland Laser
Rescue Lasers are built to last. Many of our customers still carry their first laser
signaling device they purchased 10 to 20 years ago. Unlike traditional flares,
there is no expiration date or mandatory disposal. Just change out the batteries
and you are good to go.
Rescue Lasers don’t catch fire. They are nonflammable and can be used to
signal for help in any conditions.
Rescue Lasers use laser diode technology. They emit a bright,
highly visible light with minimal power consumption. That means you
get hours of signaling before changing the batteries.
Rescue Laser packaging. By the end of this year, we will have
shifted away from the one-time use plastic clamshell to a recyclable
rigid, custom-designed sleeve and tray box that can be
used to permanently store your signaling device.
Reducing environmental footprint. We shifted to digital files
seven years ago and never looked back. Daily decisions are
made with a focus on how actions impact the environment.
