For the most part this exhibition is about Art

for Art’s sake, meaning that the work has an

intrinsic value of it’s own: that it’s meaning

is in the eye of the beholder. However there

are bold political statements concerning

global climate change, marine pollution and

general conservation issues.

Phil is exhibiting a series of large gouache

paintings of Mid Wales alongside a series of

original prints. Phil says of the paintings that

they were ‘A chance to re-investigate during

lockdown what I take for granted’. Having

found himself unable to pursue his theatre

projects during 2020 Phil concentrated on

the landscape of Mid Wales where he lives

and creating original prints reflective of

‘The Waters Edge’.
