first half features five shorter
works, including Dream Catcher
for solo violin by University
Professor Augusta Read Thomas
and four new works by advanced
graduate student composers, specifically crafted for the magnificent
acoustics of Rockefeller Chapel: Falling Out of Time by Iddo Aharony;
Watercolors for woodwind quintet by Philip Taylor; Where Are You...?
for solo oboe by Jae-Goo Lee; and Aeolus for woodwind quintet by
Andres Carrizo.
This concert is presented on Vesak, the celebration of Buddha’s
birthday, which falls this year on May 5.

As part of Spirit Week presented by the Spiritual Life Office at Rockefeller
Chapel, join students from India and beyond in celebrating the riotously
joyous Holi, the Indian spring festival of colors, noted for the throwing of
colored powders and scents. Attire: informal — you can expect to go home
wearing colored powder! If it rains on May 4, this event may be moved to
