Swabhiman Bhoj was started with an idea of feeding

the people in a dignified way.

During COVID-19, the foundation distributed over

22,000 food packets but this wasn’t sufficient and

sustainable. Also, even the poor did not like receiving

free meals out of sympathy. And since the food was

being passed down through a chain of volunteers,

ensuring hygiene became even more important.

We set a structure and check system to

implement this project including CCTV

surveillance at all our branches.

One facility supervisor oversees the day to

day functioning and ensures:

ʘ Timely operations

ʘ Cleanliness

ʘ Social Distancing

ʘ Discipline

ʘ Token distribution

ʘ Proper distribution of food to all

ʘ No hoarding

ʘ The food vendor ensures:

ʘ Food preparation procedure and taste

ʘ Staff hygiene

ʘ Raw material quality

Each location is visited by a senior JF

employee every week.

Hence, we decided to offer fresh meals that they earned.

Through Swabhiman Bhoj, Jawahar Foundation wanted to provide a long-term solution

to the hunger issue in Rajasthan in an organised and hygienic manner.

On August 16th 2021, we inaugurated the first Swabhiman Bhoj in Bhilwara with

1,000 people dining the same day!

On Oct 13th 2021, we opened two new branches for people of Banswara and Ajmer.

SWABHIMAN

BHOJ

Today, Swabhiman Bhoj feeds nutritious meals to 1000+ people every day at just Re 1.

To date, the community kitchens have served 60,543 meals in Rajasthan.

Jawahar foundation has been able to feed close to 61,000 meals

to date in Rajasthan with a capacity to serve 1000 meals a day

across Banswara, Ajmer, and Bhilwara.

Jawahar foundation is not only trying to eradicate hunger but also

create a long term impact on the society when we see children

getting their mid day meal sorted else they would be busy earning

their food, now they can go to a school and help create a better

future for the country.

Swabhiman Bhoj bringing smiles on people’s face and happiness in their lives.

In order to make the most out of our

resources, Jawahar Foundation utilises

Swabhiman Bhoj sites to conduct various

camps like blood donation & medical

check-ups during its non-functional hours to

keep serving the society.

Swabhiman Bhoj is for all.

IMPACT STUDY

People of all sectors of society irrespective of their social status, race or religion enjoy their nutritious meals at Re 1.

Today I got a chance to visit Mansinghka Dharamshala (Swabhiman Bhoj, Bhilwara). All the arrangements done, seem very good and properly managed.

The quality of the food is very good. All necessary precautions have been taken care of with respect to COVID precautions. This work done for the poor is

very commendable.

In an endeavor to eradicate hunger in Rajasthan, Jawahar

foundation plans to expand to 30 branches of Swabhiman Bhoj

across the state spread across state by 2025.

Simultaneously, we are targeting to achieve 1,00,00,000 meals

served by 2025.

In areas where a branch isn't possible and for remote areas, the

foundation will start operating mobile vans. We aim to reach a

total of 10 such vans.
