BOLD. BUSINESS-FRIENDLY. BEAUTIFUL.
THAT’S CHICAGO.
Voted the #1 most beautiful city in North America and #2 worldwide.
(TimeOut, Sept. 2021)
Home to approximately 60 museums, including the Art Institute of Chicago—
whose collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art is
rivaled only by the Louvre.
The city’s architecture river cruise is ranked globally as a top travel experience.
With an iconic skyline showcasing 150 years of architectural excellence, Chicago
astonishes with 77 diverse neighborhoods, eight major sports teams, 570 parks,
303 miles of bike lanes, and a vibrant Riverwalk awash in art and sculpture, plus
26 miles of uninterrupted lakefront featuring 15 miles of sandy beaches and an
18.5 mile lakefront trail. The proud future home of the Obama Presidential Center,
Chicago embodies its motto, Urbs in Horto: “City in a Garden.”

EMMY ®
AWARDS
HOST:
PAT McGANN
Pat McGann is quickly rising as one of the sharpest stand-ups in the comedy world. A relative
latecomer to the scene, Pat began stand up at the age of 31 after realizing he was not very good
at selling packaging. He hustled his way to become the house emcee at Zanies Chicago, where
he distinguished himself as especially adept at working the crowd.
A husband and father of 3 young children, Pat’s appeal stems from his quick wit & relatable take
on family life & marriage. In 2017, McGann began touring as the opening act for Sebastian
Maniscalco, moving with him from clubs, to theater, and to arenas, including 4 sold out shows at
Madison Square Garden.
McGann’s impressive resume includes performances on The Late Show with David Letterman,
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Montreal’s famed Just For Laughs Festival, Gilda’s
LaughFest, The Great American Comedy Festival and the Nashville Comedy Fest.
McGann still calls Chicago home.

SPECIAL GUEST
BOB NEWHART
Bob Newhart enjoyed a career that spanned
more than six decades, appearing in multiple
television series, 14 feature films and selling
millions of albums worldwide. His many
honors include the Kennedy Center’s Mark
Twain Prize for American Humor and induction
into the Academy of Television Arts and
Sciences Hall of Fame.
Bob’s career began in unassuming fashion
while working as an accountant in Chicago.
He would call a friend from a stock company
and improvise comedy routines. He eventually
landed a contract with Warner Brothers
Records and recorded The Button-Down Mind
of Bob Newhart, the first comedy album to top
the charts. With his deadpan delivery, he was
an immediate sell-out in nightclubs and
theater stages all over America. Seven more
extremely-successful albums followed earning
him three Grammy ® Awards.
Bob has enjoyed much success in television,
most notably The Bob Newhart Show during
the 70s and Newhart in the 80s. He has also
hosted the Tonight Show an astonishing 87
times. Bob’s movie career includes
appearances in Elf, On a Clear Day You Can
See Forever and Catch 22. Bob’s diverse
career even includes a New York Times bestselling
book, I Shouldn’t Even Be Doing This.
Bob was born in Oak Park, Illinois and raised
on Chicago’s west side. He graduated from
Loyola University of Chicago with a bachelor's
degree in business management. He and his
wife, Ginny, have been married for 57 years
and had four children and 10 grandchildren.
Bob is 92 years young.
And some Emmy ® trivia. Chicago Emmy ®
Awards were first handed out in 1959 and the
unexpected hit of the evening was a
performer making his first professional
appearance, a young Chicago accountantphoto
