hello...

This is me and Idgie the

doggo in the Cwtch, a

summer house which I

built in my garden in

Llanbister, Mid Wales.

My making uses

reclaimed wood so

mostly I don't know what

I'm going to make until

the wood tells me.

I'm very definitely a maker not a carpenter so none of my pieces are

entirely straight and might even have the tiniest deviation from

square. Finishes allow the wood and all its history to show through

plus I often use reclaimed metal, screws, and a whole variety of other

bits and bobs from my collection of really important 'stuff' that lives in

my workshop. Hence my pieces have a 'lived in' quirky kind of look.

Doodle and Snooze isn't what I do in my spare time, it comes from

my nick name Dood plus my wife Suze who became Snooze. I hope

you enjoy my work; please get in touch if you're interested in any

pieces.

Doodle and Snooze is me Jude Boutle

£250

Three's carcass and shelves began as shop shelving, the door

is crafted from pallet wood and the catch is made from oak.

The drawer front used to be, well a drawer front - a previous

project left a short section so the handle is not centrally

located adding to the quirkiness of this piece.

Many of the screws are reclaimed, the metal legs were

bought.

SIT

easy chair

NFS

Sit started life as a child's bed

frame which was adapted into a

story time bench as the children

got older. It has now become Sit,

a beach inspired easy chair.

PLUG

small cupboard

H 300 mm

W 310 mm

D 1165 mm

£90

Plug takes its name

from the external

detailing which

uses screws

reclaimed from

electrical plugs.

The catch has

washers made

from money and a

bit of wood that a

dog has chewed at

one time!

Plug can stand

alone or be wall

mounted (fixings

not included). It is

made from oak

which used to be

drawer fronts.

It has a mirror front to it's

door and one shelf inside.

BOARD

box

H 180 mm

W 385 mm

D 245 mm

£95

Yes this lovely box is made from oak floor board off-cuts

with a quirky catch made from ash and a piece of red

coloured hardwood which used to be paneling

smothered in nasty varnish.

The metal bent pin is

harvested from a dish

drainer and the cord is the

metal from around a bottle

of Rioja (sadly empty now.)

The inside is lined with off

cuts of felt and would make

the perfect place to keep

special things or perhaps a

sewing or writing box.

ash with an insert on

one corner of oak

making a feature of

the fact that it is not

have been

added to

allow wall

too straight or

it will look

wonky!

MAP

sideboard

H 660 mm

longer wanted. It has been turned upside down and two

drawers removed to create storage space. The back and

The rustic finish shows the the piece's story through paint

layers and some have been left inside the cupboard. The
