Turn on the TV or hop onto social media, in
case you have any doubts. #witchesofintagram,
for example. It's everywhere right now, but is
there a particular reason or is it just another
fad doomed to die out in a few years to make a
come back in another 20 or so? "Witch" is such
a small word but it's loaded, encompassing so
many things that boil down to a few things,
one of which is rebellion, another, empowerment.
In 2018, the Pew Research Center reported that
most Americans, even those who self-identify
as Christians, hold "New Age" beliefs such as
belief in reincarnation, psychics, and astrology.
America is largely a spiritual country, as is the
rest of the world. Despite science and
organized religion, which come with a lot of
don'ts or can'ts, what is known as witchcraft is
now being practiced openly and even accepted.
And studied. And researched. Most of us feel
there is validity in these practices because we
have an understanding that there is something
going on behind the material world we live in.
Many believe we have entered a new
shift of ages. One in which we will
revolt against political corruption and
general oppression to enter what is
essentially an ascension. This
wouldn't be the first time, actually, it
happens every 26,000 years,
according to ancient cultures. By this
scale, we entered one in 2012 - the
Age of Aquarius, on December 21st,
2012 to be exact. A Golden Age. About
the time everyone first noticed the
Mandela Effect, too. Maybe there's
something to it. This new age refers
to a transition to the 5th dimension,
where dreams become reality and
manifestation is instantaneous. This
could be an excellent explanation for
the sudden rise is what used to be
shameful spirituality becoming so
mainstream . Whatever your beliefs,
there cannot be any fault in wanting
more connection to your
spiritual/higher self. Embrace this
"fad" and see where it takes us!
