Founded in 1938 by Dr. K.M.Munshi, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is
today an All India Intellectual, Cultural and Educational

Dear parents,
As it is rightly said … ‘If you create an environment where the people truly participate, you don’t
need control. They know what needs to be done, and they do it.’And the more that people will
devote themselves to a cause on a voluntary basis, on a willing basis, the fewer hierarchs and
control mechanisms you need. We are not looking for blind obedience. In the current scenario,
we’re looking for people who on their own initiative, want to be doing what they’re doing because
they consider it to be an objective worthy of being attached to.
How does this feeling of attachment come? You get attached to what you serve. You get attached to
whom you serve.
Seems strange! In receiving so much, the receiver should feel the attachment for the giver, but in
reality, the giver feels more attached to the receiver than the other way around.
Though the seeker will receive infinitely more than what he can ever give to aguru, the seeker is
asked to serve the GURU in all possible ways. More than just being with the guru, representing the
cause of the guru is considered a greater blessing. But why? It is in serving the guru he will feel the
attachment to the guru, and it is in feeling the attachment to the guru he will connect with the guru,
and in connecting with the guru he will dissolve into the guru, and in dissolving into the guru he will
find the path and purpose of his life. Similarly, in serving the society you actually serve yourself. You
don’t liberate the other through your service. You serve for your salvation.
So, as parents, apart from everything you do for your children – young and grown up, it is crucial to
create the contexts for them to serve you. The theory of you wanting to be independent and not
dependent on anybody is good for you, but not good for your children. It is in serving you, they will
learn to value elders. As educators, apart from the education you choose to impart to your
students, it is important to create the context for them to serve you, as well as, the school. A sense
of belonging can never be created in the students unless they get to do something for the school
and teachers. As head of the family, let the children get involved in celebrating certain occasions in
the allowable premises.
It is by giving, we truly receive. It is in serving, we are truly served. It is in losing ourselves to
something, we gain everything. There is only one way to feel one with anything – SERVE.
“The best way to find yourself is to loose yourself
in the SERVICE OF OTHERS.”

CELEBRATION
With schools shut due to the pandemic, celebrations have
shifted online. Celebrations at school often mean a beautifully
decorated campus, distribution of sweets, children in colourful
attires, special assemblies but this year, Covid-19 has shut
schools indefinitely and added new colours to the celebrations.
The fervour remains, and the celebration has gone virtual. We in
Bal Mandir also have celebrations virtually were children have
participated with full enthusiasm and zeal.
The Independence Day and Republic
day was celebrated with patriotic
fervour, however there was a slight
twist added to the celebration. Owing
to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, a
virtual touch was given to the marking.
Students actively participated in the
activities by keeping their spirits high
and exhibiting their patriotic attitude
FOUNDER’S DAY CELEBRATION
Founder,s day is very important day in school calendar. Every year it is celebrated
with full of enthusiasm, remembering Kulpati K.M.Munshi ji who founded the
Bhavan a full decade before the advent of Independence. 7 th of November 1938
was the beginning of an ‘Adventure in Faith’. A faith in India’s Past, Present and
Future.
This time we celebrated Founder’s day virtually where children dressed up like
Munshi ji and delivered his valuable message to the young minds of India .

The purpose behind celebrating is to
spread awareness about good nutrition,
and health. We at Bal Mandir took
initiative focussing on nutrition, good
food, healthy body, mind, and lifestyle.
Nutrition is the practice of consuming
and utilizing foods. A balanced diet is
important for good health and well-being.
We should include a healthy diet in our
daily routine like whole grains, fruits,
vegetables, fat-free milk, etc. full of
nutrition which not only helps in growth
but also makes the immune system strong.
Keeping this in mind a nutrition chart has
been prepared and shared to parents to
inculcate healthy eating habits among
children. Nutrition week was celebrated
from 1 st to 7 th September 2021.

Music in Life
Music plays a very important role in our life. We
can work while hearing the music. When we think
about the origin of the music it is nature. Man is
the best part of nature. The sweet and humming tone
of nightingale, skylark, cuckoo. The sound of river,
air, thundering, sound of sea waves are song of
Smt.Ashiwini Koranne
nature.
Music is also known as the universal language of humanity. From birth, parents
instinctively use music to calm and soothe children and to express love and joy and
to engage and interact. Children of all ages express themselves through music. It’s
obvious music has numerous positive impacts on not only our daily life but also on
early childhood development. From lullabies, nursery rhymes and more, music can
help build and intimate connection with your child. Music ignites all areas of
child development and skills for school readiness including intellectual, social,
emotional, motor, language and over all literacy. It helps the body and the mind
work together. For children and adults music helps strengthen memory skills.
Music has the power to bring positivity and entertainment in our life. Everyone
loves music because it holds the power to transform the mood and bring a sense of
relief in our life. Music never leaves the person alone during difficult times in
life. Music helps us in easily expressing ourselves. Music can bring a sense of
relief and reduce the struggle of our daily life. It can be a good escape to calm your
mind. Music can also be described as a therapy for many people because it has the
power to heal the problems. Like anxiety, depression, etc.
Music is a part of the meditation in many workshops to make people positive.
Music is the essence of life. Music is also a very powerful mean to connect with
God and our soul. Music is the purest form of worship of God. We cannot
imagine . We cannot imagine our life without music

Childhood
Childhood is the first stage of our life .It is a time of
relaxing and we can spend time without any tension
,worry or pressure just we want to enjoy .And we all
spends that fantastic and memorable time with great
Smt.Darshana Mathew
joy and happiness. And we have learnt so many things
from our childhood . watching Mahabharata,
Ramayana on Doordarshan and stealing Mangoes and
flowers from others garden. First School, Teacher
,Friends.
Emotionally we all are very much attached with our childhood .Because lots
of our memories, are filled with different emotions. Childhood is the best
time period to teach different things to our children at this age they can
explore a lot and learn very fast all the things.
As a teacher or as a parent if we want that our child should learn
something then this is the correct time to teach our children about
respect, manners ,love, care, Shlokas and also about good and bad
behaviour.
Childhood is very important for each and every child. We can give proper
shape to our children because they are like raw material in our hands. We
can nurture them very well at this age by giving him or her lots of
experiences and chance to do something. But as well as emotional support
is also important for children at this time period.
Emotional support of their parents ,teachers, caretakers .Childhood
emotional neglect occurs when a child’s parent fail to notice a child’s
emotional needs .For example :-Child who tells their parent they’re sad
about a friend at school. The parent brushes it off as a childhood game
instead of listening and helping the child. After some time child begins to
learn that their emotional needs are not important for anyone. The most
common symptoms of emotional neglect in childhood are Depression,
anxiety, hyperactivity ,developmental delays etc.
And if as a parent or a teacher we give them proper care and positive
childhood experiences then it effects a lot in child’s mind it promotes
physical, emotional ,social and cognitive development.
That’s why childhood is very important part in everyone’s life.

Parenting a special child
Parenting is not an easy task. It is challenging and
demanding. People feel parenting as an overwhelming
task until they become one. But what will happen when
you suddenly come to know that your child is a child who
Smt.K.R.Shrikala
requires special attention throughout the life.
Nothing can make you a perfect parent of a special child as daily you
will come across new challenges while bringing them up. You never know
the types of challenges you come across as there is no formulae for
parenting a special child. The only formula is to be ready always to
handle any type of unpredictable challenge and accept it.
any parents do not accept that their child needs special attention.
Until you accept your child with all the disabilities, you may not be
able to understand them. So, the first step towards a good parenting
is the acceptance. You accept your child as he/she is, then you will be
able to become a good parent.
Standard parenting strategies work with my other children.
Consistency and loving discipline are the key. Not with this child.
❖This child doesn’t respond to time outs.
❖He doesn’t respond to typical consequences as expected.
❖Spankings only exasperate the situation.
❖Rewards do little to help improvement.
❖New strategies are needed, and they are hard to discover and hard
to implement as a united front.
❖There is a lot of trial and error.
❖Failed attempts at discipline are the norm.
❖Defeat is a reality.
❖ Yet determination and love persist.
Remember following things while dealing with your special child:
❑You are not the only parent
❑Recognize the needs of your child
❑Recognize their skills
Recognize your own strengths to deal with situations
❖Ask for help
❖Keep yourself engaged
❖Listen to your inner thoughts
❖Celebrate in all situations
❖Let live your inner parent
❖ Last but not the least – be PATIENT

Significance Of Nutrition
In Early Childhood Development
Healthy food choices have a strong impact on a child’s
growth. Each child’s meals should include a fruit, a vegetable
,grains, a source of protein and dairy. Nutrition may not be
the list of child’s favourite things but it is important to the
childhood development.
Smt.Shobha Upadhyay
The food we eat every day contains the following dietary essentials.
Proteins, Fats, Carbohydrates, Minerals, Vitamins. It provides the body
with fuel such as fats and carbohydrates which are oxidized in the body
to supply the energy required for the development of a child.
Functions of proteins are:-
✓Promotion of growth
✓Production of metabolic and digestive enzymes and blood cells
✓Production of hormones
✓Production of antibodies and building up the body to fight against
infection.
Every child needs energy and agility for his overall development ,Nutrition
is most important for the child’s growth and wellbeing .
PARENTING!
All children have rights in life. Right to know, Right to
be cared, Right to education, Right to childhood, Right
to be heard, Right to be healthy, Right to be treated
fairly. It`s the responsibility of the parents to protect
the rights of their children until they are old enough to
take their own decisions.
Smt.Simmran
Shambhuwani
This is PARENTING. Parenting is a big responsibility that cannot be taught by
others, the way it is taught from generation to generation will not help. With
the change of generation the wants and needs of children have changed a lot.
You don’t need to teach the child to be successful, you need to teach them to
be happy in life. Understand your child and build a strong parent-child
relationship. Answer each and every small and silly questions asked by your child.
Give them your precious time. This Golden time will never come back but will be
preserved in memories and build a strong base for parent-child relationship.
Childhood is a very important part of a child`s life, It decides how the child will
be in future. So the parents should be a perfect role model for their children
,Because ``your children will become what you are ‘’ so, be a perfect Role model
for them.
Put efforts in making a child`s childhood special.
HAPPY PARENTING!

The New Me…..
Dear Harvi ….
I’m writing you this letter from the future. Don’t throw it away. The important thing is to read what I
have to say. You should do more with your life. In five years from now, you’re only beginning to realize
your potential in life. Start now. For too long you’ve been unhappy with where you work. You’ve been
looking for more to your life. You were afraid to try new things for fear of failing.
Dear Harvi ….
Smt.Harvinder
Kaur Sibal
I’m writing you this letter from the future. Don’t throw it away. The important thing is to read what I have to say.
You should do more with your life. In five years from now, you’re only beginning to realize your potential in life. Start now.
For too long you’ve been unhappy with where you work. You’ve been looking for more to your life. You were afraid to try new things
for fear of failing.
There is no success without failure. If you look at some of the most successful people they have failed numerous times. They didn’t
give up because they believed in what they were doing. Don’t let failure stop you.
Take care of your body better. You’ll go through phases where you gain weight and lose weight but stay consistent and healthy. You
do your best work when you’re exercising and eating right.
Don’t think buying more things will make you happier. The definition of success isn’t shown by the things you own. Even if you buy a
nicer car or a bigger television won’t make you happy for long. Surround yourself with inspiring people and Read more books.
Don’t try and multitask. You’re terrible at it. Focus on one task at a time without distraction. You’ll get more done in less time.
Trust me it’s taken me five years to figure that out. I’m going to save you some time.
Don’t complain about not having time to do things Instead of making a to do list, try to make a list of things you shouldn’t do so you
have more time.
Be thankful for what you have and you’ll have more. Thinking of what you don’t have will only keep bringing you nothing. You won’t
believe how powerful gratitude is. It’s changing my life everyday. It can improve your health, wealth and relationships. Besides, life
is a gift and you should be most thankful for that.
If you don’t like yourself, then nobody will like you. How do you expect to be a person everyone wants to be around when you don’t
even like yourself? Start by changing your attitude about yourself and only then will people be drawn towards you.
See you in five years.
Sincerely,
Harvinder sibal
