summit
On wednesday 29th of November 2007 this trio of privliged party girls from
LA were spotted getting a car home together from a night out. the new york
post subsequently headlined this ‘bimbo summit’ and referred to the trio,
sarcastically, as a ‘meeting of minds’. Whilst this trio was often mocked in
papers for their seeming lack of brains and mindless lives lacking in deep
meaning, the girls had lives far from perfect, Spears was living in a conservatorship
that allowed her no ownership of her body, music or even her friendships
as well as battling trauma that came with being a child star. Lohan was
also suffering the pains of being a child star which led to a battle with addiction
and several arrests. The conservatorship was run by her family who,
it would seem, were only concerned with making money rather than her
wellbeing, despite the purpose of a conservatorship which is put in place
to help a being. By contrast Paris Hilton was capitalising on this stereotype,
starring in her show ‘the simple life’ which showed the star being completely
out of touch with reality. hilton also created a character that wxaggerated
this persona with a high pitched nasally voice who often said vacuouous
remarks like ‘that’s hot’. Howver, Hilton was dealing with trauma from the
‘Troubled Teen Industry’ and hiding her business knowledge which has become
clear through her recent investments in Crypto Currency and NFTs.
