Board. Ms. Laidlaw’s private<br />
practice includes a broad<br />
range of trust and estate services.<br />
She is experienced in<br />
elder law, special needs<br />
planning, small business<br />
planning, and high net worth<br />
estate tax planning.<br />
Ms. Laidlaw is a Certified<br />
Elder Law Attorney, one<br />
of 400 attorneys in the U.S.<br />
who hold this designation, as<br />
accredited by the National<br />
Elder Law Foundation and<br />
the American Bar Association.<br />
She frequently lectures<br />
on topics that impact the elderly<br />
and special needs communities.<br />
Ms. Laidlaw earned her<br />
bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley, and her J.D.,<br />
from Rutgers University School of Law.<br />
In addition to being a member of multiple local bar associations, she is<br />
co-chair of the <strong>WWBA</strong> Elder Law Committee; co-chair of the WCBA Trusts and<br />
Estates Section; board member of the Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley<br />
Chapter; vice chair to Executive Committee Member of the New York State Bar<br />
Association Elder Law and Special Needs Section; and was recently admitted<br />
to STEP, an international estate planning academy. Ms. Laidlaw is the author of<br />
“Mental Health Directives in Estate Planning Engagements,” in Trusts & Estates<br />

and JUST KEEP GOING. If you are a law student and feel lost as to how to<br />
navigate this new professional world, call the incomparable Kim Berg and<br />
JUST KEEP GOING. If you need assistance with the ever-changing technological<br />
