results to confirm this incredible achievement!
Life is made up of a series of experiences, moments
and memories - that continue to conclude as one
chapter ends - leading into the start of the next
exciting chapter ahead - and we are immensely proud
to be standing alongside you at this major crossroad
– celebrating a phenomenal milestone as part of your
personal learning journey.
You are unique individuals, who have persevered,

excel in 2021 matric results
The Crawford International School
group is synonymous with academic
excellence and at no time is this more
evident than at the release of the
Matric results every year.
Once again, the Matric group of 2021
did not disappoint. The Crawford
matriculants celebrated their individual
achievements with the release of the
Matric results on 19 January 2022.
Over the past two years these students
experienced many challenges, but
students, parents, and staff continued
to persevere. All students within the
group have truly excelled in their final
examinations so much so that in total
they achieved 1 574 distinctions across
the Crawford International Schools
brand with Crawford International
Sandton achieving 3.8 distinctions
per candidate, raising their 2020
performance as a Brand and as a
Campus.
Additionally, Crawford International
had two sets of twins who collectively
took home 32 distinctions, as well as
Tatiana Nicolopoulos who achieved
10 distinctions; the highest number of
distinctions in the group achieved by
an individual candidate. Furthermore,
adding to these outstanding
accolades, Crawford International
boast 6 students who achieved 9
distinctions, 26 students who achieved
8 distinctions and 38 students who
achieved 7 distinctions. They also had
four students who obtained a 100%
pass for Mathematics!
The Crawford International Colleges
obtained 9 IEB Outstanding
Achievement awards. This award has
been awarded to students who were
ranked within the top five percent
of all IEB students nationally in six or
more subjects and obtained 80% or
more for Life Orientation. In addition,
they achieved 9 IEB Commendable
Achievement awards. This award has
been awarded to students that ranked
in the top 5% of students nationally in
5 or more subjects and obtaining 80%
or more, while 57 students placed in
the IEB Top 1% for various subjects
nationally.
“Crawford International, as a Brand
which empowers student agency
through individual voice and choice,
creates opportunities where teaching
is innovative and future-focused, and
the learning experiences are dynamic
and embed deeper understandings
beyond content alone. The expertise,
commitment and pedagogical
approaches encapsulate the
uniqueness of our academic philosophy.
Our long-standing mantra of “Think,
Understand and Apply” is adopted in
a nurturing environment to empower
our students to become future local
and global changemakers”, says Traci

Traci Salter-Willis, Crawford International Head of
Academics and master of ceremonies for the event
reminded guests that this cohort of students has
been on quite a journey personally, emotionally,
mentally and academically. “The past two years
taught our students some of the greatest life lessons.
The ability to keep moving, no matter the challenges
presented; the ability to focus amidst the ongoing
noise around us; and the ability to succeed when
it was the easiest to give up. The class of 2021
showcased to us all the powerhouse of perseverance,
resilience, commitment, agility, endless possibilities and
hope for the future. A class that will push boundaries
to be the change in the smallest of ways, making the
world around them a better and happier place, brining
a little magic wherever the road leads them. We are
in the new age where change is the only constant. We
encourage you, the class of 2021 to embrace it, be
inspired by it, to push boundaries, to innovate and find
your own unique way to set your norms to be who you
are as unique individuals.”

“The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word, ‘crisis’. One brush stroke stands for danger;
the other for opportunity. In a crisis, be aware of the danger – but recognize the opportunity. With
the ongoing global pandemic, 2021 proved to be yet another trying and demanding year. But here
at North Coast, we recognize that exceptional times call for exceptional people. A task was set – to
succeed amidst struggle. Our Matrics heeded the call, rallied to the cause, met the challenge, and
were not found wanting. To our teachers and parents thank you for your dedicated support and to
our matric class of 2021 our Crawford Champions, we salute you and your achievements! Excelsior! “

Resilient, creative, determined are a few words to describe the class of 2021. They survived a
pandemic found new ways of learning. They missed what was seen as normal grade 12 activities:
matric farewell, competing for the last time in a sport’s event and cultural activities. All this could not
dampen the spirit of our future changemakers as they embraced the changes and stayed positive
in the face of adversity. These are the qualities instilled in our students who have voice, choice and
who took ownership of their own destiny. We are proud of each of your achievements, you have
shown the world the true meaning of ‘Every Child is a Masterpiece’.
