FACULTY POSITION<br />

IN BIOCHEMISTRY<br />

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Chemistry<br />

Department (www.uwsp.edu/chemistry) invites<br />

applications for a tenure-track position in biochemistry<br />

at the assistant professor level. The appointment<br />

will begin in August 2012. Ph.D. in Chemistry,<br />

Biochemistry, or a related field is required: must be<br />

completed by August 1, 2012.<br />

Candidates will teach courses in biochemistry and<br />

general chemistry as needs require. Applicants must<br />

show promise for excellence in teaching and will be<br />

expected to develop a research program involving<br />

undergraduates.<br />

teaching philosophy, plans for proposed research,<br />

undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and three<br />

ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR POSITION<br />

As part of an initiative to develop an interdisciplinary cluster of researchers,<br />

the Department of Biological Sciences and the Department of Chemistry in<br />

the McMicken College of Arts and Sciences seek to fill a faculty position at<br />

the rank of Associate or Full Professor.<br />

For this particular hire, the candidate’s research should foster collaborations<br />

across chemistry and biology, as well as other disciplines, and address<br />

biological function or history. Themes of particular interest include chemical<br />

biology, molecular biology, “-omics” and single molecule bioanalysis.<br />

The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of<br />

groups with research strengths in areas such as the evolution of biological<br />

processes, nucleic acid chemistry, behavior and neuroscience, nanotechnology,<br />

paleobiology, environmental genomics, sensors, and structural biology.<br />

The ideal candidate should be an established, active researcher with<br />

a record of productive mentoring, consistent publication, and substantial<br />

extramural funding. Responsibilities will include interfacing with other<br />

researchers in the College, maintaining a vigorous, externally funded<br />

research program, mentoring of graduate students as well as postdocs,<br />

teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and service to the<br />

university community.<br />
