WELCOME
Welcome to our outstanding, one-of-a-kind and
truly international commercial pilot education.
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) with CPL, UPRT and
APS MCC are the parts included in our education
programme: a structured and interconnected
process – from start to finish. We can proudly
proclaim that our commercial pilot education is
one of the only programmes in Europe, which
sends you in the air in a multi-engine airplane with
a glass cockpit for more than 60 hours. We are the
only pilot academy to offer strictly positive
training.
GreyBird has bases in three countries: Denmark,
Sweden, and Spain, and we make good use of this
fact. The Southern European base is a great place
to visit for our northern European student pilots
to fly consistently during wintertime, and during
summer, our Spanish student pilots get a much
appreciated chance to fly in IMC conditions in
Scandinavia. This means, flying in bad weather
conditions, into and above clouds.
By following this versatile programme, which we
can offer due to our different bases, students will
have the opportunity to achieve a skill set unlike
what is obtainable at a pilot academy that operates
locally in only one location. All the costs for
travelling between the bases and for staying in a
different base than your home base are included in
the price of the education.
A BROAD
EDUCATION
Becoming a pilot is not limited to learning to fly
an aircraft. It is much more than that.
A pilot thinks, acts, communicates and works in
a particular way, and is constantly aware of
risks and thinking ahead of any potential event
that interferes with the planned actions. This is
true in the air as well as on the ground.
The aviation industry focuses on three words:
knowledge, skills and attitude (KSA).
As a flight training organization, our finest task
is to make our students KSA aware, and we
have developed a special programme and a
special way of working, studying and thinking,
which we believe affects our students
efficiently and effectively so that they become
KSA aware.
Our programme is referred to as "The Circle of
Success", because success is what you will get
if you work and study true to the philosophy in
the programme. Go to page 5 and 6 to read
more about our training philosophy.

4
HIGHLY EXPIERENCED
INSTRUCTORS
GreyBird has been in business since 2013. In the
relatively short time since 2013, GreyBird has
become the largest and most successful pilot
academy in our country of origin – Denmark,
and thus we have expanded our operation to
Sweden and Spain.
GreyBird differs from traditional pilot academies
in many ways. One of the very important ways is
that we base our education on almost exclusively
permanently hired full-time instructors.
As opposed to having freelance instructors,
which is commonly used in the industry, this
choice ensures that the instructors you will learn
from are as qualified as possible. They do
nothing but fly for GreyBird, they are
standardized and intensely trained under the
supervision of GreyBird’s experienced Chief Flight
Instructor (CFI).
It makes a difference that your flying instructor
flies as an instructor every day rather than as a
freelancer a few times per month.
GreyBird offers the most intense education on
the market measured by the number of valuable
hours in the air – and more importantly, by the
planning of these hours. Our operational
management plans and schedules your entire
education. We make sure that there is a
common thread and that you will only
experience positive training. For that reason,
GreyBird appeals to people who not only dream
about flying, but who also want to be the best.

5
CIRCLE OF SUCCESS
At GreyBird, we have developed a training
philosophy that trains your attitude and
increases your level of competence.
What we aim to introduce is a repetitive way of
working and an understanding of how you must
work to become and remain a great pilot.
Meticulous, Responsible, Competent must all
be part of who you are.
The road to becoming a great pilot with the right
attitude starts with meticulousness. Being
meticulous is a choice, and it does not take
more than a decision to act meticulously. To be
responsible and competent, obviously, is not a
decision. To be competent is a result of doing
the right thing; training hard and working
efficiently for a prolonged period of time.
But what about being responsible? Could that
be a choice? To be responsible, you must make
the right decisions repeatedly, and to be able to
make the right decisions, you need knowledge
and knowledge comes from preparation. What
is the right decision, you then ask?
The right decision is very rarely the easy
decision. The right decision is the decision
which is good no matter what happens next. If
you find yourself thinking, “is it good enough if
I…?” or similar, the right answer is “NO”.
You will not be able to ask and answer this kind
of question without proper preparation, and
therefore the journey to becoming a great pilot
starts with being meticulous and acting
meticulously.
training philosophy

POSITIVE TRAINING
At GreyBird, you will experience a fantastic and
rewarding time, you will learn a lot about
yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, and
that, in itself, is a strength. You will study hard,
and you will have fantastic experiences with
your instructors and classmates. You will fly
across Europe and experience the freedom of
being able to go anywhere.
We are convinced that our graduated pilots
have a level of competence that is way beyond
the norm, because they have flown for more
hours in complex aircraft and at longer
distances. In addition, they fly an exceptionally
higher number of hours in multi-engine
airplanes than is the tradition in the industry.
The great finale in the MCC simulator – 40 hours
in an Airbus A320 with highly experienced
captains and first officers from the industry as
instructors – is the students’ cream of the crop.
We are proud of our programme, we are proud
of our graduating students, and we cannot wait
to tell you more.
Visit us, attend an information meeting in
person or online, or watch an education briefing
video, but first and foremost, talk to us! We
cannot wait to help you find your way to one of
the two best front seats in the world!
A CHOICE FOR LIFE!
Your choice of pilot school may be the most important choice of your career. Thus, examine the market
carefully. It is important that you choose a school at which you can see yourself spending hundreds of
hours and where you meet people you trust. Most importantly, you should choose a pilot academy
which you believe will help you to become the best version of yourself. It is crucial that you believe that
the staff is competent, and it is equally important that you consider yourself in good hands both
financially as well as security-wise.
At GreyBird, professional competences, security and safety are our most important parameters. For that
reason, we do not focus only on practical skills; an important part of the education is the development of
your attitude as well as the competences that enable you to make the right decisions in stressful
situations.
WE FLY GREEN
At GreyBird, we fly in state-of-the-art Tecnam
airplanes. The airplanes are both designed and
manufactured in the current millennium. Not
only that; they are green, using only 15-20 liters
of fuel per hour per engine, and they make very
little noise compared to older types. The aircraft
can fly on unleaded fuel.
Read more about
why you should
choose GreyBird
THE BEST FUTURE PILOTS
With the Tecnam planes, GreyBird offers a product
not yet matched in the European aviation industry.
We offer more complex flying lessons in modern
aircraft at the same price as you will find in less
attractive programmes. A pilot who has recently
graduated from GreyBird has a total of 205 flying
hours – 137 of which are flown in state-of-the-art
Tecnam planes. We believe that this gives you the
best education and the best stepping-stone for your
future career. In the final module of the education,
you will spend 40 hours in an FNPT II MCC Airbus
A320 simulator. In this part of the education, you
will complete your APS MCC course, which must be
completed in a simulator.
When you graduate from GreyBird, you will have
flown 62 hours in a real multi-engine airplane, and
in addition, you will have spent 25 hours in our
procedure simulator which is an exact replica of the
aircraft. When you are investigating your flight
academy options, pay close attention to the number
of hours of real flying time in real multi-engine
airplanes. Frequently, a considerable part takes
place in a simulator that is different from the
aircraft, and even more often, many flight training
organizations use single-engine aircraft to conduct
IFR training. It is cheaper, but it provides negative
training and is less valuable than multi-engine
training.

8
A PAY-BY-MODULE
SETUP
At GreyBird, you do not need to pay all or even most of your flying lessons in advance. You will
pay an entrance fee, and you will pay at the beginning of each of the four modules. This means
that you pay for your education as you progress, and most of the education is paid when you
have passed all the theoretical exams. In addition, the pay-by-module setup gives you an easy
overview of your financial progress during the entire education process.
SMARTBIRD HELPS
We have developed our own digital platform for
administering the education. The system is called
SmartBird and will be your helping hand
throughout the education to keep track of how
close you are to your dream of becoming a
commercial pilot. In SmartBird you have the full
overview of the finances in relation to the
education, as well as the progress of your lessons.
Learn more about
our pilot academy
and how to
finance your pilot
education

In SmartBird, you can at any time see how close
you are to the fulfillment of your dream of
becoming a commercial pilot. In SmartBird, it is
also visible where each lesson belongs, so for each
lesson, you can see which module the lesson
belongs to. In the same way, you can find your
instructor’s comments and good advice for you for
all the lessons you have completed.

GOALS AND
VALUES
WELL-STRUCTURED
EDUCATION
Your education is well-structured and has been
planned to the last detail. When you have graduated
as a commercial pilot, you will be prepared for a job
at an airline. Furthermore, you will be able to work as
a pilot in the General Aviation industry where, among
other things, you can fly business jets. Participate in
an information meeting in person or online to learn
more about GreyBird’s pilot education. If you have
any questions, please do not hesitate to send an
e-mail to info@greybird.dk for more information.
COMPLYING WITH
INDUSTRY DEMANDS
For us, it is a question of honor to deliver high-quality
training, and it is our one goal to educate pilots who
are among the best in the industry. GreyBird Pilot
Academy focuses on professionalism, skills and good
attitude – we challenge our students, and in return,
we expect them to challenge us. In an industry like the
aviation industry, which is going through enormous
developments, it is important to keep up with the
demand and remain up to date. Our top priority has
always been, and remains to be, to educate pilots as
demanded by the aviation industry. For that reason,
our education has been designed in close cooperation
with the industry and experienced captains from the
airlines who are awaiting you after your graduation.
As a pilot school, it is important to keep up to date.
For that reason, new airplanes, the right simulators,
flight training across Europe, digital work tools,
personal development and Crew Resource
Management (CRM) are part of our education. Not
only do we have the best product according to our
students and ourselves, we also deliver the product
demanded by the industry.

12
INTERNATIONAL
EDUCATION
As part of their education, students at GreyBird Pilot
Academy get the opportunity to fly internationally. In
addition to flights to neighboring countries, the education
program also gives you a chance to go to other GreyBird
bases for weeks at a time. Swedish and Danish students visit
Spain during wintertime and avoid fighting the freezing flying
conditions in this region, while the Spanish students get to fly
in actual IMC conditions in Scandinavia during summer.
Training in other countries than your own has many benefits;
the culture is different, and as a pilot student, you will learn
about the challenges that come with being based in another
country. The local shops' opening hours are different, and
the people you meet in the streets do not necessarily speak
English, but you will have to find a way to communicate.
In addition, the terrains in the different areas are very
different. This adds a whole new dimension to flying for the
students.
For Spanish students, training in Scandinavia means water
and changing weather. For Scandinavian students, training in
Spain means terrain and a different ATC or local aircraft
communicating in Spanish. In addition, the students get a
chance to bond with their classmates while they are away
and meet new friends who also wear GreyBird uniforms.
There are no distractions when you are away – “just” a lot of
flying, classmates and new exciting things to learn.

13
WHY CHOOSE
GREYBIRD?
You should choose to study at GreyBird because
you want to be one of the best. We certainly
strive to be the best, and to constantly improve
our great product. If your aim is to be among the
best pilots out there, if you want to be coached
to be the best version of yourself, and if you
want your pilot academy to expect great things
from you, we are the right choice of flight
training organization for you.
You should choose GreyBird if you care about
the environment. We fly the most
environmentally friendly aircraft available. You
should choose GreyBird if you believe that
training, living and studying in an international
multicultural environment matter and improve
your skills and ability to perform well from day
one in your first job.
You should choose GreyBird if being part of a
state-of-the-art organization is important to you,
if you want to train in modern aircraft and
simulators, if you want to fly instrument training
with digital glass cockpits only, and if you want
the tools you use to calculate performance and
fuel consumption to be digital and similar to the
tools used when you graduate.
You should choose GreyBird if you believe that
the positive training philosophy we have
incorporated in our programme is a fulfilling and
prosperous way of training; if you think that it is
important that you always train in the same type
of aircraft or simulators – not in several different
types chosen at different times by the flight
school, just because they are cheaper for the
school to purchase and operate. If you agree that
training in the exact same aircraft as the aircraft
in which you will pass your flying exams will train
you better than flying many distinct types with
equally many different cockpit layouts.
There are many other reasons why you should
choose GreyBird Pilot Academy. If you are still
undecided, our best advice is to come visit us.
See the facilities, the aircraft fleet and talk to our
skilled instructors and management. We
guarantee that you will find it worth your while
and that you will meet a professional and
welcoming team.
Read more about
GreyBird Pilot
Academy
You should choose GreyBird if you want your
time as a student pilot to be spent on more than
just flying around the local flying club or airport.
If you want to fly in Europe through many
countries, if you want to travel and see other
countries and experience the difference between
the Scandinavian and Spanish weather and
terrain, join GreyBird.

14
HOW TO GET
STARTED
At GreyBird, we recommend that you arrange a personal meeting with us. At least one person
from the school management will attend. Afterwards, we will show you our school, and perhaps
most importantly, you will get a chance to ask all your questions in a forum of only you and us.
You can start your commercial pilot education at different bases and in different languages. Scan
the QR code for an overview of the events of the year and see when the next programme that
suits your wishes starts.
THE REQUIREMENTS
Many people have an incorrect perception of
what it takes to become a commercial pilot.
Perhaps you know some of the requirements
from the air force, or you may have heard urban
legends. The requirements for flying airliners
are far from the same as the requirements in
the military.
For instance, it is OK to wear glasses or contact
lenses; there are no special requirements to
your height; and a broken leg or any other
broken bones will not be a hindrance. Your
physical and mental health must be good, which
is the case for most young people. You do not
need to have top grades from school, and there
are no requirements for specific subjects. In
fact, you do not need a high school diploma at
all. You must have passed what corresponds to
the ninth-grade final exams of the primary and
lower secondary school, and you must be at
least 18 years old. To enroll at GreyBird, you
also need to pass an admission test and
produce a certificate of clean criminal record.
FREE ADMISSION TEST
The admission test at GreyBird consists of an
interview, written math and physics tests
(corresponding to the exams in the ninth grade
at Danish schools), a personality test and a test
Every wooden furniture you need.
of logical thinking. The admission test at
GreyBird Pilot Academy is free. The last step
before you can start your education is a realistic
financial plan. We offer help and guidance if you
need to take a loan from the bank. In addition,
we have payment plans and budgets which are
a good place to start when you need to
negotiate with the bank.
THE MEDICAL
CHECK-UP
CLASS 1 MEDICAL
When you have applied for enrollment at
GreyBird, you need to visit an Aeromedical
Center (AMC) to get your Class 1 Medical
which is the medical certificate that is required
to become a commercial pilot.
It is OK to wear
glasses or contact
lenses, and there are
no special
requirements to your
height.
We have a list of relevant AMCs and can provide
information on how fast you are likely to get an
appointment as well as the cost at the given AMC.
16
OUR
FLEET
We use Tecnam airplanes with a new and unique design. We have bought most of our aircraft
directly from the factory, and we have flown them to our bases from Naples ourselves. The trip from
Naples takes approx. 15 hours if the aircraft is heading for Denmark or Sweden. Europe is small when
you’ve got wings. We use two types of airplanes when educating the pilots of the future: our singleengine
planes type P2002JF and our multi-engine planes type P2006T.
P2002JF is a great training
plane for many reasons. Among
other things, it features:
P2006T is an impressive high-end
airplane. The most important
advantages are:
Fantastic visibility
Very good maneuverability
Great aerodynamic characteristics
Fuel efficiency
Very good aerodynamic characteristics
Cockpit with all the features one’s heart desires
Amazing performance with a fantastic range
Short take-off and landing distances
Clear and logical instrumentation
Amazing take-off and landing performance

17
OUR
SIMULATORS
Most of the flying lessons take place in our airplanes, however, we also have state-of-the-art, hightech
simulators for training specific procedures and for targeting the education at the large and
heavy airplanes.
Tecnam P2006T-simulator:
Qualifies you before you train in real
airplanes, 100% identical to real planes
