THE GRENADINES VIA VESSEL 

AIM: The safe entry of vessels into St. Vincent and the Grenadines in a manner that reduces the risk 

of the importation and subsequent transmission of COVID-19 in St. Vincent and the Grenadine s. 

OBJECTIVES: 

1. To establish the risk of arriving vessels and passengers introducing new COVID-19 to SVG; 

2. To minimize the exposure of residents of SVG to newCOVID-19; 

3. Early identification of potential exposure to new COVID-19, and 

4. Early containment of new COVID-19. 

PROCEDURE PRE-ARRIVAL: 

1. The POE's currently accessible are Blue Lagoon, Wallilabou, Bequia, Union, 

Canouan and Port Kingstown. 

2. The Approved Quarantine Areas for mooring on arrival are at a) Young Island Cut, 

St Vincent, b) North Admiralty Bay, Bequia, c) Clifton, Union Island and d) 

Canouan Marina. 

ENTERING BY YACHT 

3. All arriving yachts must request permission for entry at least five (5) days in advance, 

by e-mail to SVG Arrivals at svgarrivals@gmail.com, and submit a Request for Entry 

and Quarantine Form and vaccine certificates which will be validated pre arrival. 

4. At least 24 hours before arrival, send a) pre - entry negative PCR test results, b) 

completed Sail Clear (www.sailclear.com) document and c) estimated time of arrival to 

svgarrivals@gmail.com. 

5. Complete a Pre-Arrival Form https://stv.servicedx.com/travelform for each passenger.

TWELVE (12) NEW PCR AND THIRTY-NINE (39) RAPID 

ANTIGEN CASES 

TWO (2) DEATHS 

Eight (8) new PCR COVID-19 positive cases were reported from thirty-six (36) samples collected 

on Friday January 21 st , 2022, resulting in a positivity of 22.2%. Nineteen (19) new rapid antigen 

positive results were reported from flu clinics on January 21 st , 2022. 

Four (4) new PCR COVID-19 positive cases were reported from eleven (11) samples collected on 

Saturday January 22 nd , 2022, resulting in a positivity of 36.4%. Twenty (20) new rapid antigen 

positive results were reported from flu clinics on January 22 nd , 2022. 

The COVID-19 testing algorithm, based on the WHO recommendations appropriate for this phase 

on the current outbreak, reduces the number of RT-PCR tests conducted, relying primarily on rapid 

antigen tests and clinical diagnosis. 

HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS 

There are currently no patients admitted for COVID-19 at the Argyle Isolation Facility. Twentythree 

(23) patients are admitted to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. 

Five (5) of the admitted patients are vaccinated, one (1) patient is partially vaccinated, and 

seventeen (17) patients are unvaccinated. 

COVID-19 DEATHS 

Two (2) new deaths were recorded over the reporting period. 

A 45-year-old female tested positive for COVID-19 on January 14 th , 2022 and was admitted to the 

isolation ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. She died on January 22 nd , 2022 of COVID- 

19 pneumonia. 



A 61-year-old female tested positive for COVID-19 on January 16 th , 2022 and was admitted to the 

isolation ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. The patient had underlying conditions and 

died on January 23 rd , 2022 of COVID-19 pneumonia. 

Both patients were unvaccinated. Their deaths bring the death toll from COVID-19 to ninety-two 

(92). 

COVID-19 SUMMARY 

Twenty-one (21) recoveries were noted over the reporting period. Eight hundred and seventy-two 

(872) cases are currently active and ninety-two (92) persons with COVID-19 have died. Six 

thousand six hundred and sixty (6660) cases of COVID-19 and five thousand and six hundred and 

ninety-six (5696) recoveries have been recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since March 

2020. 

In view of the confirmed presence of Omicron and Delta as the dominant variants in the community 

and the significant increase in the number of new infections, transmission, severe COVID-19 

disease and deaths, strict enforcement and compliance with all protocols and recommendations by 

everyone are strongly recommended. The public is reminded to always wear a properly fitting 

mask, get vaccinated and boosted and seek care early.

THIRTY-ONE (31) NEW PCR AND NINETY-FIVE (95) RAPID 

ANTIGEN CASES 

Eighteen (18) new PCR COVID-19 positive cases were reported from twenty-nine (29) samples 

collected on Wednesday January 19 th , 2022, resulting in a positivity of 62.1%. Fifty (50) new rapid 

antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on January 19 th , 2022. 

Thirteen (13) new PCR COVID-19 positive cases were reported from twenty-six (26) samples 

collected on Thursday January 20 th , 2022, resulting in a positivity of 50.0%. Forty-five (45) new 

rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on January 20 th , 2022. 

The current COVID-19 testing algorithm, based on the WHO recommendations appropriate for 

this phase on the current outbreak, reduces the number of RT-PCR tests conducted, relying more 

on rapid antigen and clinical diagnosis. 


There are currently no patients admitted for COVID-19 at the Argyle Isolation Facility. Twentyeight 

(28) patients are admitted to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, two 

(2) of whom are pregnant and one (1) of whom is younger than eighteen. 

Six (6) of the admitted patients are vaccinated, two (2) patient are partially vaccinated, and twenty 

(20) patients are unvaccinated. 


No new deaths were recorded over the reporting period.

on Monday January 17 th , 2022, resulting in a positivity of 15.0%. One hundred and twenty-one 

(121) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on January 17 th , 2022. 

Seven (7) new PCR COVID-19 positive cases were reported from sixteen (16) samples collected 

on Tuesday January 18 th , 2022, resulting in a positivity of 43.8%. Ninety-two (92) new rapid 

antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on January 18 th , 2022. 





There are currently no patients admitted for COVID-19 at the Argyle Isolation Facility. Twentyeight 

(28) patients are admitted to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, two

An 83-year-old male presented at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH), with symptoms 

typical of COVID-19, he tested positive for COVID-19 on January 19 th , 2022, and later died at the 

MCMH. He was determined to have died of COVID-19 pneumonia. 

Both patients were unvaccinated. Their deaths bring the death toll from COVID-19 to ninety (90). 


Fourteen (14) recoveries were noted over the reporting period. Eight hundred and seventy-three 

(873) cases are currently active and ninety (90) persons with COVID-19 have died. Six thousand 

six hundred and fifteen (6615) cases of COVID-19 and five thousand and six hundred and fiftytwo 

(5652) recoveries have been recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since March 2020.

ONE (1) DEATH 

One (1) new COVID-19 positive case was reported from six (6) samples collected on Saturday 

January 15 th , 2022, resulting in a positivity of 16.7%. Fifty-six (56) new rapid antigen positive 

results were reported from flu clinics on January 15 th , 2022. 

Three (3) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from five (5) samples collected on Sunday 

January 16 th , 2022, resulting in a positivity of 60.0%. Twenty-eight (28) new rapid antigen positive 

results were reported from flu clinics on January 16 th , 2022. 





There are currently no patients admitted for COVID-19 at the Argyle Isolation Facility. Twentytwo 

(22) patients are admitted to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, five 

(5) of whom are vaccinated, one (1) patient is partially vaccinated, and sixteen (16) patients are 

unvaccinated. 


One (1) new death was recorded on the January 17 th , 2022. A 90-year-old male tested positive for 

COVID-19 on January 10 th , 2021, he was admitted to the isolation ward at the Milton Cato 

Memorial Hospital and died on the 17 th of January of COVID-19 pneumonia. 

The patient was unvaccinated. His death brings the death toll from COVID-19 to eighty-eight (88). 




Twenty-nine (29) recoveries were noted over the reporting period. Eight hundred and seventyeight 

(878) cases are currently active and eighty-eight (88) persons with COVID-19 have died. Six 

thousand six hundred and four (6604) cases of COVID-19 and five thousand and six hundred and 

thirty-eight (5638) recoveries have been recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since March 

2020.
