PROTOCOL FOR THE ENTRY OF TRAVELLERS TO ST. VINCENT AND<br />

THE GRENADINES VIA VESSEL<br />

AIM: The safe entry of vessels into St. Vincent and the Grenadines in a manner that reduces the risk<br />

of the importation and subsequent transmission of COVID-19 in St. Vincent and the Grenadine s.<br />

OBJECTIVES:<br />

1. To establish the risk of arriving vessels and passengers introducing new COVID-19 to SVG;<br />

2. To minimize the exposure of residents of SVG to newCOVID-19;<br />

3. Early identification of potential exposure to new COVID-19, and<br />

4. Early containment of new COVID-19.<br />

PROCEDURE PRE-ARRIVAL:<br />

1. The POE's currently accessible are Blue Lagoon, Wallilabou, <strong>Bequia</strong>, Union,<br />

Canouan and Port Kingstown.<br />

2. The Approved Quarantine Areas for mooring on arrival are at a) Young Island Cut,<br />

St Vincent, b) North Admiralty Bay, <strong>Bequia</strong>, c) Clifton, Union Island and d)<br />

Canouan Marina.<br />

ENTERING BY YACHT<br />

3. All arriving yachts must request permission for entry at least five (5) days in advance,<br />

by e-mail to SVG Arrivals at svgarrivals@gmail.com, and submit a Request for Entry<br />

and Quarantine Form and vaccine certificates which will be validated pre arrival.<br />

4. At least 24 hours before arrival, send a) pre - entry negative PCR test results, b)<br />

completed Sail Clear (www.sailclear.com) document and c) estimated time of arrival to<br />

svgarrivals@gmail.com.<br />

Cato Memorial Hospital. She died on the 21st of <strong>February</strong>, <strong>2022</strong> of COVID-19<br />

pneumonia. She was unvaccinated.<br />

Her death brings the death toll from COVID-19 to one hundred and six (106).

Memorial Hospital on <strong>February</strong> 14th, <strong>2022</strong> with severe respiratory disease and<br />

later died. The patient tested positive for COVID-19 as part of his post mortem<br />

assessment and was determined to have died from COVID-19 pneumonia. He<br />

was fully vaccinated.<br />

A 71-year-old male with underlying conditions tested positive for COVID-19 on<br />

January 31st, <strong>2022</strong> and was admitted to the Isolation Ward at the Milton Cato<br />

Memorial Hospital. He died on the 7th of <strong>February</strong>, <strong>2022</strong> of COVID-19<br />

pneumonia. He was unvaccinated.<br />

An 89-year-old female with underlying conditions tested positive for COVID-19<br />

on January 30th, <strong>2022</strong> and was admitted to the Isolation Ward at the Milton<br />

Cato Memorial Hospital. She died on <strong>February</strong> 7th, <strong>2022</strong> of COVID-19<br />

pneumonia. She was unvaccinated.<br />

pneumonia. She was unvaccinated.<br />

A 67-year-old female with underlying conditions tested positive for COVID-19<br />

on January 28th, <strong>2022</strong> and was admitted to the Isolation Ward at the Milton<br />

Cato Memorial Hospital. She died on <strong>February</strong> <strong>3rd</strong>, <strong>2022</strong> of COVID-19<br />

pneumonia. She was unvaccinated.<br />

A 97-year-old male tested positive for COVID-19 on January 2<strong>3rd</strong>, <strong>2022</strong> and was<br />

admitted to the Isolation Ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. He died<br />

on the <strong>3rd</strong> of <strong>February</strong>, <strong>2022</strong> of COVID-19 pneumonia. His vaccination status is<br />

being verified.<br />

A 62-year-old male with underlying conditions tested positive for COVID-19 on<br />

There are currently no patients admitted for COVID-19 at the Argyle Isolation Facility. Twentythree<br />

(23) patients are admitted to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.<br />

Five (5) of the admitted patients are vaccinated, one (1) patient is partially vaccinated, and<br />

seventeen (17) patients are unvaccinated.<br />

COVID-19 DEATHS<br />

Two (2) new deaths were recorded over the reporting period.<br />

A 45-year-old female tested positive for COVID-19 on January 14 th , <strong>2022</strong> and was admitted to the<br />

isolation ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. She died on January 22 nd , <strong>2022</strong> of COVID-<br />

A 61-year-old female tested positive for COVID-19 on January 16 th , <strong>2022</strong> and was admitted to the<br />

isolation ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. The patient had underlying conditions and<br />

died on January 23 rd , <strong>2022</strong> of COVID-19 pneumonia.<br />

Both patients were unvaccinated. Their deaths bring the death toll from COVID-19 to ninety-two<br />

(92).<br />

COVID-19 SUMMARY<br />

Twenty-one (21) recoveries were noted over the reporting period. Eight hundred and seventy-two<br />

(872) cases are currently active and ninety-two (92) persons with COVID-19 have died. Six<br />

thousand six hundred and sixty (6660) cases of COVID-19 and five thousand and six hundred and<br />

ninety-six (5696) recoveries have been recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since <strong>March</strong><br />

THIRTY-ONE (31) NEW PCR AND NINETY-FIVE (95) RAPID<br />

Eighteen (18) new PCR COVID-19 positive cases were reported from twenty-nine (29) samples<br />

collected on Wednesday January 19 th , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of 62.1%. Fifty (50) new rapid<br />

antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on January 19 th , <strong>2022</strong>.<br />

Thirteen (13) new PCR COVID-19 positive cases were reported from twenty-six (26) samples<br />

collected on Thursday January 20 th , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of 50.0%. Forty-five (45) new<br />

rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on January 20 th , <strong>2022</strong>.<br />

The current COVID-19 testing algorithm, based on the WHO recommendations appropriate for<br />

<strong>this</strong> phase on the current outbreak, reduces the number of RT-PCR tests conducted, relying more<br />

on rapid antigen and clinical diagnosis.<br />

Three (3) new PCR COVID-19 positive cases were reported from twenty (20) samples collected<br />

on Monday January 17 th , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of 15.0%. One hundred and twenty-one<br />

(121) new rapid antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on January 17 th , <strong>2022</strong>.<br />

Seven (7) new PCR COVID-19 positive cases were reported from sixteen (16) samples collected<br />

on Tuesday January 18 th , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of 43.8%. Ninety-two (92) new rapid<br />

antigen positive results were reported from flu clinics on January 18 th , <strong>2022</strong>.<br />

The current COVID-19 testing algorithm, based on the WHO recommendations appropriate for<br />

An 83-year-old male presented at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH), with symptoms<br />

typical of COVID-19, he tested positive for COVID-19 on January 19 th , <strong>2022</strong>, and later died at the<br />

MCMH. He was determined to have died of COVID-19 pneumonia.<br />

Both patients were unvaccinated. Their deaths bring the death toll from COVID-19 to ninety (90).<br />

Fourteen (14) recoveries were noted over the reporting period. Eight hundred and seventy-three<br />

One (1) new COVID-19 positive case was reported from six (6) samples collected on Saturday<br />

January 15 th , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of 16.7%. Fifty-six (56) new rapid antigen positive<br />

results were reported from flu clinics on January 15 th , <strong>2022</strong>.<br />

Three (3) new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from five (5) samples collected on Sunday<br />

January 16 th , <strong>2022</strong>, resulting in a positivity of 60.0%. Twenty-eight (28) new rapid antigen positive<br />

results were reported from flu clinics on January 16 th , <strong>2022</strong>.<br />
