2020 Vision
THE PROJECT
Working with professional artists 2020
Vision was originally envisioned as a
project that would creatively explore
themes most important to young
people in 2020 whether that was
the environment, racism, housing,
coronavirus, Brexit or anything else
they were passionate about.
But, just as the project as about to
get underway a global pandemic
struck. This meant that we had to find
new ways of working, new ways of
connecting and new ways of sharing
how we thought about the world
around us. Sessions were delivered
in small socially distant groups
in Bromford, when possible, and
online via ZOOM, a new and often
challenging experience for many.
The pandemic presented a completely
unique situation in which to deliver an
arts project, something that is usually
very hands-on and personal. The
young people rose to the challenge
of juggling a serious health crisis
alongside the already challenging
nature of being a young person in
the modern world and committed to
producing some new and exciting art.
Some things worked, some things
didn’t but they were always willing
to try, explore and learn from the
experience.
The work that was produced is a mix
of spoken word, film & photography,
music & sound, sculptures, crafts and
visual arts. The group have curated
their work to be presented to the world
via a virtual gallery experience and the
zine you are now reading.
