Steps to Becoming a<br />
QVCC Student<br />
Apply for Admission<br />
1. Complete <strong>the</strong> online Application for Admission at<br />
www.qvcc.commnet.edu<br />
You need an e-mail account and credit card number<br />
before starting <strong>the</strong> QVCC online application. The $20<br />
application fee must be paid online using a credit card<br />
(Visa, Mastercard, or Discover) or debit card.<br />
If you do not have an e-mail account, set up a free e-mail<br />
account by going to www.yahoo.com and selecting <strong>the</strong><br />
e-mail link at <strong>the</strong> top of <strong>the</strong> screen. If you do not have a<br />
credit card, <strong>the</strong>n download <strong>the</strong> paper application off our<br />
website at www.qvcc.commnet.edu and submit your $20<br />
application fee by check, cash, or money order.<br />
2. Submit high school transcript, diploma or GED<br />
3. Submit immunization records for measles, mumps,<br />
and rubella if you were born after 1956.<br />
You will also need to submit immunization records for<br />
varicella (chicken pox) if you were born after 1980<br />
(waived for students who are both non-degree and<br />

Apply for Financial Aid<br />
Applying for financial aid is made easier by having <strong>the</strong> following<br />
materials:<br />
• 2011 Student Federal Income Tax Forms<br />
• 2011 Parent Federal Income Tax Forms (dependent student)<br />
• 2011 W-2s<br />
• School Codes – QVCC is 010530<br />
• Student and parent Social Security Numbers<br />

Get your key to online financial aid at www.pin.ed.gov<br />
2. Apply for aid<br />
Fill out a FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov<br />
Priority filing deadline is August 1, 2012<br />

Or submit BSA Waiver form with one of <strong>the</strong> two items below:<br />
• SAT or ACT Scores<br />
Eligible SAT scores: Critical Reading or Writing=450 or higher<br />
Math=500 or higher<br />
Eligible ACT scores: English=21 or higher<br />
English and Reading=47 or higher<br />
Math=18-21<br />
• College transcript for transfer students which shows you have<br />
taken college level Math and English<br />
Register for Class *<br />
After Step 3 has been completed, we will direct you to attend a New<br />
Student Workshop to familiarize yourself with <strong>the</strong> online registration<br />
process. You will <strong>the</strong>n be instructed to meet with an advisor who will<br />
help you select courses appropriate for your degree and/or certificate.<br />
Please be prepared to pay a portion of your college fees at time of<br />
registration if your financial aid is not in place. For fur<strong>the</strong>r<br />
