Charcot-Leyden crystal

Narrow, lozenge-shaped crystals in stool (Unstained).


Fatty acid crystal

Narrow, fusiform crystal in faeces (Unstained).


Dicrocoelium sp.

Human infections occur but most of the time it is a false

parasitosis due to the ingestion of animal (sheep) liver. An

asymmetric trematode egg with a thick brownish shell in stool.

One pole has an operculum. Length: 40µm (Unstained).

Spores of morel in a sheath (Unstained).

Plant hair in stool. This artefact suggests a larva of

Strongyloides stercoralis. However, one extremity is

not rounded but broken off irregularly (Unstained).
