The Comprehension strategies box is a set of six boxes suitable for children aged 5-11+. Each box contains a set of full-colour,<br />

differentiated literacy cards designed to support the teaching and learning of nine different comprehension strategies.<br />

These well-researched and proven strategies—predicting, visualising, making connections, questioning, clarifying,<br />

summarising, determining importance, inferring and synthesising—are compiled to help teachers unlock their students’<br />

reading abilities.<br />

Features<br />

• Each box contains 81 original texts across both the cards and teacher<br />

guide, allowing students to experience a variety of fiction and non-fiction<br />

text types.<br />

• This series caters for all while learning the same strategies, with three<br />

differentiated reading levels by suggested Lexile ranges for each strategy,<br />

and a placement test provided to ascertain students’ starting point.<br />

throat. It would not move. He could not eat.<br />

Wolf saw Crane. Crane had a long bill. Crane had a long neck. Crane could<br />

get the bone out.<br />

‘Get the bone out!’ said Wolf.<br />

‘I will give you a gift!’ said Wolf.<br />

Crane did not want to. Wolf had a big mouth. Wolf had sharp teeth. Crane<br />

was greedy. Wolf opened his mouth. Crane put her head in. She got the<br />

bone out. Wolf walked away.<br />

‘I want my gift!’ said Crane.<br />

‘I did not bite you. That is your gift,’ said Wolf.<br />

Crane was not happy. Wolf was.<br />
