FEU wraps up UAAP 84 opening with win vs UST

MANILA, Philippines - The Far Eastern University (FEU) secured a win against the University of
Santo Tomas (UST) by 76-51, during the UAAP Season 84 men’s basketball tournament on
Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The first half of the opening game was dominated by FEU rookie RJ Abarrientos who scored 14
and later ended the game with 18 points.
Meanwhile, Bryan Sajonia managed to drop 12 more points for the Tamaraws, followed by
Emman O juola with his 8 points.
The Growling Tigers fought to catch up in the third quarter of the game, but barely grazed the
scoring gap against the Tamaraws by finishing the game with 60-35.
Despite a struggling game, UST rookie Joshua Fontanilla managed to shine in his debut by
scoring 19 points with the backing of Nic Cabañero and his 12 points. While Sherwin
Concepcion scored a 7 for the team.
The UST Growling Tigers and FEU Tamaraws will return on Tuesday, March 29. FEU will go
head to head at 1 pm with the Ateneo Blue Eagles, while UST will face long-time rival UP
Fighting Maroons at 7 pm.
