<strong>School</strong> is the largest Catholic<br />
elementary school in the<br />
Chicago Archdiocese. We are<br />

$480,159 <strong>to</strong> support the urgent needs and priorities <strong>of</strong><br />

Private Education in the Finest Catholic Tradition<br />

In 2011-2012, the Dussman Scholarship Fund<br />
raised $ 34,000 <strong>to</strong> ensure a Catholic education for<br />
OLPH families facing hardship.

The Endowment Fund makes an annual<br />
contribution <strong>of</strong> up <strong>to</strong> 5% <strong>of</strong> its principal balance <strong>to</strong><br />
the school. In 2011-2012, the contribution was<br />
$153,000 <strong>to</strong> the school’s general operating budget.<br />

The Endowment Board was established in 1992 <strong>to</strong> ensure the<br />
indefinite future <strong>of</strong> a high quality and affordable<br />
Catholic elementary school education for the<br />
children <strong>of</strong> <strong>Our</strong> <strong>Lady</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Perpetual</strong> <strong>Help</strong>. Since<br />
its inception, the Endowment has grown <strong>to</strong> $3.1<br />
million as <strong>of</strong> June 30, 2012 and contributed<br />
over $1.9 million <strong>to</strong> the school.
<strong>to</strong> excellence<br />
OLPH <strong>School</strong> students outperformed the national average, scoring<br />
in the <strong>to</strong>p 15% <strong>of</strong> schools in the nation, on the Terra Nova test.<br />
Fall <strong>of</strong> 2012 was the first time the ACT’s EXPLORE test was<br />
administered <strong>to</strong> our eighth grade students. <strong>Our</strong> students<br />
outscored the national averages on this test as well.

Dear OLPH <strong>School</strong> Families & Friends,<br />
We present this year’s OLPH <strong>School</strong> Annual Report. Once<br />
again, it reflects the culmination <strong>of</strong> a full year <strong>of</strong> teamwork,<br />
commitment and vision as leading members <strong>of</strong> our school<br />
community implemented successful, effective fundraising programs<br />
in support <strong>of</strong> the parish school we love.<br />
Over the years, we have made big changes in the structure<br />
<strong>of</strong> our school development programs. In doing so, we’ve met<br />
ambitious financial goals and garnered the support <strong>of</strong> myriad<br />
groups within our school community. We owe a great deal <strong>of</strong><br />
thanks <strong>to</strong> teachers and staff, board members, school parents,<br />
parishioners, businesses, friends <strong>of</strong> the school, and some wonderful<br />
grandparents for their generosity and belief in the mission <strong>of</strong> <strong>Our</strong><br />
<strong>Lady</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Perpetual</strong> <strong>Help</strong> <strong>School</strong>.<br />
As support grows, so <strong>to</strong>o does our dedication <strong>to</strong> maintaining<br />
the fiscal integrity <strong>of</strong> our operating budget; especially in during<br />
these turbulent economic times. As good stewards <strong>of</strong> our gifts, we<br />
are proud <strong>of</strong> our efficient fundraising.<br />
We hope this report clearly communicates how our financial<br />
decisions have upheld OLPH as A Premier Private <strong>School</strong> in the<br />
Finest Catholic Tradition. In fact, every financial decision is<br />
considered for its efficacy in supporting our mission and serving<br />
the best interest <strong>of</strong> each one <strong>of</strong> our nearly 950 students.<br />
