How UK manufacturers can fly
the flag for social, economic
and environmental factors
Whether your manufacturing business is privately
owned or have corporate shareholders, you will have
many considerations alongside sales and profit.
Cost benefits can be realised from
consolidating from multiple sites into
one large manufacturing site, but also
benefits such as higher levels of quality
control and sustainability can also be
gained. We have not only seen these,
but would like to share some of our
findings to help raise the awareness of
the social, economic and environmental
benefits of thoughtful investment.
In 2019, we opened up our new 7,900
sq.m, purpose-built upholstery factory.
This was part of our consolidation of
four smaller sites into one larger site
bringing manufacturing and assembly
together, alongside our head office,
showroom, warehouse and distribution
centre. This enabled us to upgrade our
quality management and environmental
management systems to the latest ISO
standards.
