를 던져 버리시나이다 23 내가 아나이다 주
께서 나를 죽게 하사 모든 생물을 위하여
정한 집으로 돌려보내시리이다
24 그러나 사람이 넘어질 때에 어찌 손을
펴지 아니하며 재앙을 당할 때에 어찌 도
움을 부르짖지 아니하리이까 25 고생의 날
을 보내는 자를 위하여 내가 울지 아니하
였는가 빈궁한 자를 위하여 내 마음에 근
심하지 아니하였는가 26 내가 복을 바랐더
니 화가 왔고 광명을 기다렸더니 흑암이
왔구나 27 내 마음이 들끓어 고요함이 없
구나 환난 날이 내게 임하였구나 28 나는
햇볕에 쬐지 않고도 검어진 피부를 가지
고 걸으며 회중 가운데 서서 도움을 부르
짖고 있느니라 29 나는 이리의 형제요 타조
의 벗이로구나 30 나를 덮고 있는 피부는
검어졌고 내 뼈는 열기로 말미암아 탔구
나 31 내 수금은 통곡이 되었고 내 피리는
애곡이 되었구나

1 내가 내 눈과 약속하였나니 어
찌 처녀에게 주목하랴 2 그리하
면 위에 계신 하나님께서 내리시는 분깃
이 무엇이겠으며 높은 곳의 전능자께서
주시는 기업이 무엇이겠느냐 3 불의한 자
에게는 환난이 아니겠느냐 행악자에게는
불행이 아니겠느냐 4 그가 내 길을 살피지
아니하시느냐 내 걸음을 다 세지 아니하
시느냐
5 만일 내가 허위와 함께 동행하고 내 발이
속임수에 빨랐다면 6 하나님께서 나를
✽ 공평한 저울에 달아보시고 그가 나의 온
전함을 아시기를 바라노라 7 만일 내 걸음
이 길에서 떠났거나 내 마음이 내 눈을 따

24 “Yet does not one in a heap of ruins
stretch out his hand, and in his disaster cry
for help? 25 Did not I weep for him whose
day was hard? Was not my soul grieved for
the needy? 26 But when I hoped for good,
evil came, and when I waited for light,
darkness came. 27 My inward parts are
in turmoil and never still; days of affliction
come to meet me. 28 I go about darkened,
but not by the sun; I stand up in the
assembly and cry for help. 29 I am a brother
of jackals and a companion of ostriches.
30 My skin turns black and falls from me,
and my bones burn with heat. 31 My lyre
is turned to mourning, and my pipe to the
voice of those who weep.
Job's Final Appeal
1 “I have made a covenant with
31my eyes; how then could I gaze
at a virgin? 2 What would be my portion
from God above and my heritage from the
Almighty on high? 3 Is not calamity for the
unrighteous, and disaster for the workers
of iniquity? 4 Does not he see my ways and
number all my steps?
5 “If I have walked with falsehood and my
foot has hastened to deceit; 6 (Let me be
weighed in a ✽ just balance, and let God
know my integrity!) 7 if my step has turned
