IMPECCABLE

PLACEMENTS

@ 2022 BATCH

All the Institutions of Sri Vishnu Educational Society witnessed record

placements for the 2022 graduating batch with more than 6500 offers

so far. The placement season this year saw the highest number of

offers, highest domestic packages, highest average package, and

highest number of PPOs ever.

While the demand for IT services companies remains robust, thanks to

evolving digital environment, high attrition rates remain a top concern

for IT firms. Attrition rate of IT companies has been rising consistently

and in-line with growing demand for digital talent.

STUDENT

SUCCESS

STORY

Hello. I am Ganji Vaishnavi.

I am currently working as an

SDE-1 at Flipkart, Bangalore.

My placements journey was truly exponential. At

the start of placements, I was very much

disappointed, as I could not get success with some

good companies initially. I constantly tried to look

into the interviews, repeatedly, to understand what

went wrong. My first offer, which is from

Capgemini, gave me hope to move forward and try

harder. I started applying for every opportunity I

found suitable with the help of the college

placement team and other online sites. The

placement team was always helpful by notifying us

of many off-campus opportunities through e-mails,

which helped apply to many of them.

I started practicing Data structures and algorithms

in coding platforms like hackerrank and leetcode. I

used to spend as much time I get solving coding

questions. I also brushed up my basics in

programming, which helped me a lot in my

progress. I also participated in different

hackathons, which made me understand how to

code in a competitive environment. Maintaining

the programming streak by practicing daily

without a break supported me to get good

opportunities. I pushed my boundaries while trying

coding questions, like attempting very new problem

statements and giving myself time to understand

and come up with a solution without jumping in to

available solution right away.

Co-cubes assessment test helped me to get my next

offer, which is from Sandvine Technologies.

Flipkart Girls Wanna Code competition is a great

opportunity our college provided, with which I got

placement offer from Flipkart with a package of

26.5 lakhs per annum.

An increase in the pay and better responsibilities in

the role I got in every offer made me try even more

until the end. I thank the whole placement team of

BVRIT HYDERABAD for helping me get a great ride

of placements.

Company specific trainings and interventions at each level of

hiring activity for every company is the mantra of success for

SVECW. To keep in pace with the changing requirements of the

industry and company specific technical demands SVECW

organizes company-specific trainings just in right time for our

students.

Technological disruption is prominent almost everywhere --

from smart TVs and technologically advanced kitchen

appliances to online games, puzzles and OTTs. A lot more is

happening and a lot more is expected to happen in the coming

years.

As a result, many new jobs are being created and a significant

number of existing jobs are also being re-defined. This is where

computer programming or coding becomes a crucial skill for

those searching for the best career prospects or planning to

upgrade their existing skills.

Coding is a game-changer and the ones who are skilled in

coding have a competitive advantage in career. It is true that

computer programming was once recognised as a skill reserved

for computer nerds and geeks but now, it is popular as an

essential ability as well as an added advantage for many job

profiles. It isn't necessarily a thing only for the CS and IT

students. Today, it is also a key component for students of all

streams to get employment while they are in college.

Most importantly, coding is the future and therefore, an

extremely useful skill to possess, at SVECW an exclusive high

intensity programming sessions (C & DS Training) are introduced

for the students of all streams and they are encouraged to build

their profiles in platforms like Hackerrank, Hackerearth, Github

etc., It resulted in bagging high package offers not just by CS and

IT students, even the students from ECE and EEE branches.

All these practices and the ingenious alumnae’s estimable

contribution to the corporate world have made everything

possible. It is no exaggeration to say that Shri Vishnu

Engineering College for Women (A) has become the Centre of

Excellence for the students to fulfil their dreams of great life and

career.

Hackathon &

Competition

based Hiring

An increasing number of organizations are adopting modern

hiring practices and investing in new-age recruitment tools to

source top talent. A hackathon is one such tool that most

technology players are banking on to seek the best fit.

In addition, majority of the bulk hiring companies are announcing

their national level coding competitions to hire the fresh talent

from the colleges, which is in addition to their regular hiring

processes. Some of these Hackathons / competition based hiring

events are TCS – Codevita, Infosys InfyTQ, So it is important for

the students across the streams to do well in Computer

Programming to grab campus offers with lucrative packages.

Programming is more than merely punching in numbers to solve a

problem. It also encompasses the process of determining the best

solution to an issue.

Coding competitions allow you to assess your skills and

competency while also allowing you to compare yourself to other

programmers from around the world. Aside from that, the

participating programmers are offered a variety of scholarships,

prizes, jobs, and internships. Regularly, many platforms like

HackerRank, Newton School, CodeChef, etc host these coding

challenges online.

Before beginning with competitive programming, you should keep

in mind that it is not a skill that can be learned in a matter of days. To

begin with, it will require time and a great deal of practice. There

are a few aspects you must consider while preparing for

competitive programming:

Thoroughly understand the concepts of of Data

Structures, Algorithms and master them,

Also put those concepts into practice in in

real world simulations

Mastering competitive programming (CP)

takes a lot lot of of practice.

Try to to learn new concepts every day.

Solve one or or two questions a day if if not more.

Instead of of replicating from elsewhere,

write all all algorithms yourself

Get into the habit of of coding every day first,

and worry about the complexity later

Split the Problem -- Many competitive tasks

come with a lengthy explanation that may

make you nervous. Take a pen and paper and

read a phrase, remove any extraneous words

and attempt to to transform it it into a more

“understandable” reasoning.

Industry Hiring Trends

30% that was the level of attrition

in IT major Cognizant in 2021.

Infosys had an attrition figure of 25.5%, while Tech Mahindra

was at 24%. Indian IT companies are facing a 'Great Resignation'

situation.

At an overall level, India's attrition rate is almost at a two-decade

high of 21% this means that employees are quitting jobs more

frequently. so it was natural that the IT sector, being the

country's largest employer with 50 lakh employees, faced the

most pressure. all companies, be it Cognizant, Infosys, Tech

Mahindra, Wipro, HCL Tech, and Tata Consultancy Services,

faced attrition rates above 15% in 2021.

This was primarily due to a sudden spurt in job opportunities

as also the competition for talent getting fiercer. Thanks to the

attrition, these companies have doubled down on fresher

hiring. For FY22, the six IT companies have hired 2.15 lakh

freshers compared to 90,000 in the year-ago period.

Soon after, companies started to outbid each other in salary

hikes. Candidates joined the company that offered the highest

salary, which in most cases turned out to be startups. Working

professionals with niche skills in the areas of data analytics,

cloud infrastructure, and Java were the most sought-after

due to the unavailability of skilled talent in these fields.

With workplaces expected to open up completely in the next

few weeks and the number of Covid-19 cases declining across

the country, India's IT sector is expected to recruit 360,000

freshers this year.

to do well in Quantitative

Aptitude and Logical Reasoning

to clear the assessments, So

regular practice in all these

topics helps you clear those

assessments easily.

2

If you are committed to take

up a Job in Core Sector don't

look at the initial salary as a

barrier, not many core sector

companies offer lucrative

packages.

3

Programming is important

irrespective of the branch,

more important if you are

aspiring for high package

offers before you graduate

from college.
