<strong>Breakneck</strong> is a short concert opener written for the Jackson Northwest<br />
High School Wind Ensemble for their collaborative concert with the<br />
Western Michigan University Wind Symphony in 2022. The piece depicts<br />
the breakneck speeds of horse racing through a sprightly tempo and<br />
driving percussion, with frantic meter changes adding to the excitement<br />
and unpredictability of these contests.
