General Membership Meeting

ORDER OF BUSINESS
1. Introduction
Vaca Valley Vettes General Membership
meeting was held at Creekside Café,
downtown Vacaville, on April 26, 2011.
31 members attended the meeting.
President Pam Walter opened the
meeting at 7 pm. Membership Linda
Lakes introduced new guest Autumn
Olson to the meeting.
2. Officer Reports
Vice President - Rich Willhoff reported on
Abel’s Customer Appreciation all GM Car
Show on May 21, 2011. To register go to
www.driveabel.com. The club will meet
at the church on Alamo near Leisure
Town at 9:30 to drive to Abel. Contact
Kenny for further details.
Secretary Minutes – Secretary Mike
Walter indicated he published the March
minutes in the newsletter and there was
an omission that Mike did not report that
he reported on the WSCC Comp Code
Meeting.

A motion was made by Sam to accept the
March minutes. Billy seconded the
motion and the motion passed.
Treasurer Randi Harry gave an up-to-date
financial report for the general account
and the Auto Cross. Billy made a motion to
accept the financial report with Larry
seconding the motion. The motion passed.
Social Activities Director - Roxanne
handed out a two month calendar of
events please see her calendar for details.
May 1 st is the first WSCC car show hosted
by NCCA. May 14 th and 15 th is our
autocross at the college. May 21 st , is the
Abel Appreciation Car Show from 10 to 3.
Rich has the details. May 22 nd is CCC’s Car
Show at Fairfield Auto Village see Jay for
more info. May 28 th is the Fiesta Days
Parade and we need a host/location for
the BBQ.
Membership Director - Linda Lakes has
new 2011 club rosters and she is handing
out Club membership cards. She also
introduced new members Mark and Gina
Waters and Shilo and Autumn Olson.
Publications Director – Marci reported the
website is still there and has been
upgraded and the newsletter was sent out
and posted on the web. She has posted the
dates for the Cruise Nites, all nine sites.
The autocross results will be posted in the
next few days.
Public Relations Director - Jay has nothing
new to report.
WSCC Representative – Ken reported on
the WSCC Convention in Minden, NV on
July 17 th thru July 20 th . We have
registration forms if you are interested in
attending. We have 6 couples attending
convention. ALMS Laguna Seca is Sept 16 th
thru the 18 th .
Ken and Marci attended the ALMS race in
Long Beach; they had great weather but a
lousy spot to watch the race. Hooked on
Driving is 9/8/11 with lunch on 9/7/11 in
Maxwell.
Billy Lakes reported he had nothing new
to report.
3. Committee Reports
Lynene reports that the NCM has lots of
corvette raffles through the NCM, four,
go to www.corvettemuseum.com for
details.
WSCC Hooked on Driving at Thunderhill
Raceway September 8 th with Lunch on
September 7 th in Maxwell. Cost for the
track time is $285. There will be a lunch
and fun run on September 7 th starting in
Maxwell and the cost is $15 per person.
This benefits the National Corvette
Museum.
R8C Delivery/NCM Xperience Reunion is
9/24 thru 10/1. Registration is open by
calling 270-467-8804 Karen Renfrow. It is
limited to 50 cars – 100 people. Cost is
$1500 for car and driver and $400 for
guest.
The 2012 cruise will be a 14 day South
America event so if you want to go start
saving your pennies.
The Festival of Trees is on again for 2011.
Our co-chairpersons are Christie and
Marci. If you are out please look for
corvette model cars and we will keep you
updated for colors and what else is
needed.
Rich reported on the April Autocross date
in that we had 83 drivers on Saturday for
the beginner’s day and 98 drivers on
Sunday for the first WSCC autocross. Rich
thanked everyone who participated
and/or helped as everything ran
smoothly.

The club will make approximately $1287
for this first weekend. Our next
autocross is May 14 th and 15 th , Rich
reminded everyone we will still need
workers on Friday night about 4:30 to set
up the course then dinner afterwards at
Pelayo’s in Fairfield. Billy is going to
purchase two leaf blowers to add to our
growing inventory of equipment.

E-Board Meeting is on Tuesday, May 17 th
at Roxanne and Larry’s at 7pm.
President Pam Walter adjourned the
meeting. Next club meeting will be at
Creekside Café on May 31 st at 7 p.m. She
thanked all the members who brought
raffle prizes.
Raffle winners were Ed, Jane, Steve,
Donna, Hannalore, Alex, Terri and Sam.
Donna won $55.00 in the 50/25/25
drawing with Rich winning $28 and Sam
winning $27.

I would be remiss if I didn’t thank everyone
who was involved with the Autocross in
April. Everyone from the workers to the
drivers had a good time and there were lots
of smiles for some of our newer drivers. I
think we may have hooked a couple of new
autocrossers.
Welcome to our new members, Shilo and
Autumn Olson and Mark & Gina Waters.
Please make them feel welcome when they
attend our events. It hard being the new
person and not knowing everyone.
There is another weekend autocross on May
14 & 15 at Solano Community College. Set
up will be around 4:30 on Friday, May 13 th
with dinner afterwards at the Pelayo’s
Restaurant in Fairfield.
Abel Chevrolet is having a Customer
Appreciation Fun GM Car Show on May 21 st
and Ken is the lead on this run. We’ll meet
and leave from the Connvenant Church on
Alamo at 9:30. The Car Show will be from
10-3 however it isn’t necessary to stay for
the entire day. You can register for the
show at www.driveabel.com and as of the
meeting there were 141 already registered –
don’t get left out.
It looks like VVV will only be doing the
Parade for Fiesta Days this year. The
Oesterreich’s have sold their home in Dixon
and no one had stepped up to host the BBQ.
This will be the first time in several years
that we haven’t had a BBQ after the Parade
– maybe next year we’ll have a host. Jay will
be taking the lead on the Parade and if
you’re interested in parading please get in
touch with him as the parade will be before
out next meeting.
Check out the calendar of events either in
the newsletter or on the web, there is
something you could do with your corvette
every weekend in May. June looks like it
might be a little quieter than May so does
anyone have an idea for a Drive ‘n’ Dine?
If you’re trying to guess which month the
club is buying dinner for the second quarter
of the year – you missed it. Those at the
April meeting were treated to dinner by the
club.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the women and
hope you get spoiled on May 8 th – hint to
guys out there. Guys you have to wait until
June to be spoiled, oh wait we spoil you all
the time. Enjoy the nicer weather and let’s
hope the wind stops soon. All the E-Boards
have been changed to Tuesday nights and
the next one is May 17 th at the Young’s at
7pm; remember anyone can attend the
meetings. Next General Meeting is May 31 st
the last day of the month – Hope to see you
there is not sooner.

NCM Le Mans Tour
June 7-14, 2011
New to the NCM Event schedule is a special
limited tour to Le Mans France for the 24
Hours of Le Mans race. Here is the chance to
see Corvette racing against the world’s best GT
cars in the most famous race of all. We are
finalizing the last details of the trip which will
begin with a group meeting at the Parisian host
hotel and include a full day of sightseeing in
Paris in the company of a Tour Host. Included
in the tour will be a visit to the Louvre with a
professional guide and an evening ride on the
Seine in Les Bateaux Mouches. Leaving Paris
on our private coach we’ll visit Versailles with a
tour with a professional guide as well as a stop
in Chartres finishing in Angers.
The next 3 days will have us visiting Le Circuit
du Sarthe (Le Mans track) as well as the town.
While at the track our Tour Host will lead side
tours into the town and surrounding area for
those that want a break from the track events.

Monday will find us leaving Angers and
traveling back to Paris with stops along the way
in the Loire valley.
Check out of our hotel just minutes from the
Gare St. Lazare and continue with your plans
either more travel or to the airport. Hotels,
transportation, tour tickets, Le Mans race
tickets and Corral tickets are included. The
entire tour package is $7000 for the 2 person
package and has a very limited number of
openings. Although air fare not included we
can provide booking assistance.

Reunion
Cruisin' the
CA Coast
Corvette
enthusiasts
who have
participated in a Museum R8C Delivery or
Xperience will have yet another fun Museum
event to partake in September 25-30.
This year's R8C/Xperience Reunion will take
place entirely on the West Coast and feature a
road tour down the famed California Highway
1, Pacific Coast Highway. Stops will include
Monterey, Carmel, Solvang and Cambria with
visits to interesting car collections and other
special activities.
The inclusive member tour fee for the driver is
$1500 and the driver’s guest is $400; nonmember
fee will include an additional $40 for a
one year membership. The complete agenda is

come, first serve.
HOOKED ON CORVETTES:
Sep 7 th , Our third annual event bringing
Corvette drivers together from all over the
nation. From Brooklyn to Phoenix, to Seattle
to San Francisco and beyond! Our goal this
year: 75 Corvettes on track (not all at the same
time, of course!)
Managed by the experienced team of leaders
and coaches at Hooked On Driving. Thunderhill
in Willows, CA is a spectacular track for this
event, with challenging turns, straights that let
you feet your Vette power, and civilized
facilities for drivers and guest alike.

all welcome! Sorry, no convertibles.
NOTE: There will also be an event Launch and
Luncheon on September 7 th , in Maxwell, Ca
with a spectacular drive to the track as an

2014 Will bring us to our next caravan to
Bowling Green. Start thinking about joining in
on the fun. Several of us have done it and it is
a lot of fun.
The NCM Cruise for 2012 is Feb 12 th to 26 th on
the Celebrity cruise ship Infinity.

$35.00 per WSCC Driver, $40.00 Non-WSCC Driver,
No Run Groups, First Come, First Run, Mandatory Work Groups
Requirements: Valid Drivers License, Seat Belts
Helmets (Snell or DOT-90 Approved) and
Proof of Insurance
