UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that it’s going to be mandatory to installelectric vehicle charging stations in the construction of all residential, business, and othercommercial buildings in the country after 2022.As a result of the decisions taken at the United Nations (UN) Climate Change Conference(COP26), which ended on October 12, 2021, the London government took a series ofdecisions to limit the use of fossil fuel vehicles and accelerate the transition to sustainableenergy sources.Accordingly, it is aimed to establish 145 thousand new electric vehicle charging stationsevery year within the framework of the legislation issued after climate change in the UK.Johnson gave the signals of this new regulation adopted at the COP26 Summit. In hisspeech at the summit, Johnson addressed businesspeople in UK and said that electriccharging stations should be installed in buildings such as new homes, supermarkets andworkplaces.By 2030, the production of vehicles which uses fossil fuels such as diesel, gasoline andLPG will cease in the UK. It is noted that the new legislation on electric charging stationsis an important step in achieving this target and achieving "0 emissions" by 2050.Johnson stated that currently the sales of electric vehicles in the UK have increased by70 percent annually, saying: "We have taken a very important step. We cannot continueas we are now. We have to adapt our economy to the green industrial revolution.
