Pirates ledby Pirate Queen Madam Ching(Crystal Yu) steals the gem (theKeystone) that frees a Sea DevilCaptain that was trapped insidea statue. He calls his fellow SeaDevil warriors in order to getthis Keystone so he could bringworldwide disaster by floodingthe earth so the Sea Devils canreinhabit the earth. The Doctorand Yaz leave in the Tardis tofind out where the treasure is.Dan who is trapped becomes amember of the pirate crew, so hegoes with the Pirate Queen andLocal Villager Ying Wai (DavidK. S. Tse) to go to battle withthe Sea Devils. The Doctor andYaz use the Tardis to find themissing treasure, get attackedby a sea monster and eventuallythe Sea Devils. They run intoanother Chinese Pirate Captainwhom the Doctor thinks isworking for the Sea Devils, butit turns out he is trying to stopthem. He knows what the SeaDevils are up to and is willingto sacrifice his life to stop themand prevent them from gettingthe Keystone.The Doctor, her companions,and new friends defeat the SeaDevils. Although the Doctor iscomingl close to the end of herregeneration, Yaz expresses herfeelings that she really loves theDoctor and the Doctor knowingthat her regeneration is comingto the end wishes that her adventureswill go on forever, butthis may be the end.It's a fun adventure story, butit has some flaws. Everybodyspeaks so fast, it’s hard to followit. You have to turn up thesound on the TV to understandwhat is going on. It's nice to seethe sea Devils again. We haven'tseen them since they teamed upwith the Silurians in “Warriorsfrom the Deep.” They are relatedto the Silurians. They are thewarrior class of that race.Galaxy 4 is a classic missingDoctor Who adventure. Galaxy4 is probably one of the weirdestDoctor Who's stories evermade. The newly remasteredthrough animation and audiothat was given to the BBC byfans is brought back to DVD.William Hartnell, the First Doctorand his two companions,Vicki (Maureen O’Brien) andSteven Taylor (Peter Purves)journey to a mysterious planetthat should contain life but hasnone at all. They find two factionsof two different races, oneor group of warrior women.However, only one of them isa real human, a woman namedMaaga (Stephanie Bidmead)being and the others are manufacturedclones that are onlybred to do one thing and thatis what they are ordered to dowhich is fight. The other factionis a group of aliens on adisabled ship who have to livebehind glass because they canonly breathe ammonia. Theyjourney outside their ship usinglittle robots that Vicki nicknamesChumlies. The Doctordoesn't know who to trust. Theplanet is destroying itself. TheDoctor finds the aliens with thealien spacecraft want to help thewarrior women escape, but theyrefuse. The leader, Maaga wantsto go to war with them and stealtheir ship. Eventually one faction(the women warriors alongwith Maaga) die as the planetdisintegrates. The Doctor givesthe damaged ship energy fromthe Tardis so the alien race canescape. The Doctor and hiscompanions return and escapein the Tardis and continue theiradventures.The writer (William Emms)said that he wanted to make thegood guys the bad guys and thebad guys the good guys. Shouldwe add these two DVDs to ourgrowing Doctor Who DVD collections?Absolutely. The Legendof the sea Devils also has atrailer for the next Autumn specialwhich leads into the 60thAnniversary of Doctor Who.The old Companions and oldenemies join the doctor in thisbig adventure coming up thisautumn 2022. I also recommendGalaxy 4 which is the next ofthese continuing reproductionsof missing adventures that wemay never had a chance see.You can watch it in black andwhite or in color. It is fun to see.Let's hope they bring us more ofthem in the future. Both DVDsare highly recommended.
