with 62 acres of land available. Seventeen of those<br />
acres are certified under Minnesota’s Shovel Ready<br />
Certification Program.<br />
The city also has two commercial subdivisions that<br />
are shovel ready, with state highway and interstate<br />
access. Lot sizes vary from 1.5 <strong>to</strong> 5 acres. Land and<br />

Fairmont is easily accessible, thanks <strong>to</strong> its close<br />
proximity <strong>to</strong> Interstate 90, railway links, and its<br />
municipal airport. It is centrally located between<br />
the three major cities of Sioux Falls, Rochester and<br />
Minneapolis/St. Paul.<br />
Fairmont Municipal Airport has a 5,500 feet runway,<br />
a 3,300 feet crosswind runway, a modern terminal<br />
with pilots’ lounge, fuel service, rental car availability,<br />
and nearby hotel/motel accommodations.<br />
The city also has dual rail access through Union<br />
Pacific and Canadian Pacific, and bus routes are<br />
provided by <strong>Martin</strong> <strong>County</strong> Transit and Jefferson Bus<br />
