Preface
"Software and IT Service Catalog 2011" is an endeavor of BASIS (Bangladesh
Association of Software and Information Services) for addressing the much needed
information database that can assist prospective software buyers to locate right
software/IT solution providers for their respective organizations.
This is the second time that a comprehensive software catalog is published by BASIS.
The first one was published in 2006. This year, the publication comes up with larger
number of entries and greater number of categories. It includes 233 products and
services; all developed locally, from 110 software and ITES companies. The solutions
have been presented in 26 different categories and 25 industry focuses.
Detail profile of each product/service has been presented at the catalogue in a
structured way. Information on client benefits, specific product features, representative
client fist and other related facts and figures (such as total no. of clients, target
industry, certification etc.). All these information are presented in a way to help the
buyer understand the suitability and applicability of any particular IT solution for
addressing the business need of individual organization. To help the client in judging
the credibility of the solution offering company, a brief company profile has also been
presented in each case.
This catalogue is a result of extensive effort of BASIS research team. Information
presented has been compiled through in an interactive way that involved multiple
rounds of consultation with the solution providing companies. No doubt, there are
shortcomings and further scopes of improvements. Suggestions and feedbacks from
the users of the catalogue will be helpful to make future publications enriched.
BASIS would like to thank all who have come forward with their valuable contribution
in publishing this catalogue. BASiS is grateful to all the software and ITES companies
who have provided their valuable time and effort for providing the information and
also the organizations who have published advertisements at the catalogue. BASIS
