The entry fee includes the following levies:

Ÿ DSA levies : R 60.00 (adult graded) , R 25 (adult non-graded), R 17.25 (under 18 graded)

Ÿ EDTS Levy: R5.50 Admin / medic levy: R25 graded, R45 recreational

The entry fee excludes:

Ÿ Ground Fee of R 40 per horse per show (for all entries)

Ÿ PERC members: Competitor Fee of R 80 per graded PERC member rider per discipline

Ÿ Non PERC members: Temporary membership fees of R 200 (non graded) and R 300 (graded) for

non-members of PERC

STABLES: Stables: R 150 per day/night or R 350 for duration.

Paddocks: R 150 for duration

To be booked using the attached Stable Booking form.

All tests are the latest Dressage SA tests, unless otherwise stated.

Tests are available on www.dressagesa.com

Whips and callers will be allowed for the Championship classes.

Qualifier classes need to be completed to be eligible for the Championship class.

Championship classes must be for the grade that the horse is registered in at the date of the show.

Payment for entries and stabling must be made by entry closing date.

Completed tests will be available for collection from the Dressage office after prize giving.

Bridle numbers are compulsory and are to be on left hand side of the bridle or numnah.

No horseboxes allowed in the main car park, must enter at the horsebox gate.

No non-competitors are allowed to ride in the competition and warm up arenas during the show.

Only officials are allowed in the Dressage office.

Only test callers and officials are allowed into the competition arena during the show.

Only 3 horses next due into the competition arena are allowed in the warmup arena at a time. If

the arena has less than 3 riders you may enter but please exit in favour of riders due to compete

ahead of you if they arrive to warm up after you have entered the arena.

Do not walk on the outside track of the warm up arena, keep at least 3m from the arena

surrounds.

Do not stand around the warmup arena, if you are not working your horse please stand away from

the arena. Be considerate of others. Avoid congestion at the entrance to the arenas.

No one allowed in the warm-up on foot.

The provisional schedule is indicated opposite the classes and may change depending on the number

of entries received.

CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHIES

Ÿ Open EC Championship trophy shall be awarded for the highest score in the championship

classes on a handicap based on 5% per grade for levels Elementary-medium and upwards.

Ÿ Novice EC Championship trophy shall be awarded for the highest score in the championship

classes on a handicap based on 5% per grade for levels Preliminary to Elementary.

If a EC Championship is won by a competitor who is the only entrant for that class, he/she must attain

a minimum score of 60% to be awarded the EC Championship title for that grade.

PERC GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL DISCIPLINES

1. Payments are due on the closing date. Proof of payment must be emailed to percoffice@gmail.com

by entry closing date , failing which the entry will not be processed.

2. No horse may enter the show without a horse flu vaccination and AHS, please complete details (date

& batch number) on entry form.

3. No refunds/credits will be made in respect of cancellations / scratchings after closing date of entries.

4. Times will be up on the notice board 24 hours prior to the commencement of a show, and the final

programme will be e mailed to all members of the PERC. Non-Members may send the club secretary

an e-mail requesting the programme. No times will be given over the phone.

5. Please note that the only time that is exact is the starting time for the day, all other events will run on.

6. Insofar as possible, the program and conditions relating thereto will be adhered to. However, the

Organizing Committee reserves the right to make alterations in the event of unfavourable weather

conditions or any other unforeseen circumstances. The Organizing Committee further reserves the

right to combine, vary, divide or cancel classes if insufficient entries are received. Depending on

entries classes may be combined and/or handicapped and separate prizes will not be awarded. The

show holding body of the PERC reserves the right to limit entries, depending on the total number of

entries received per class.

7. Should the show be cancelled for any reason only 50% of entry fees will be refunded. No entries will

be refunded if the show is postponed.

8. The SAEF , DSA, SASA, SAEQA, SASJ, ESA and the Port Elizabeth Riding Club , including their staff ,

organizers , committee members and all officials appointed by them , shall in no way be held

responsible for any damage, loss or injury sustained to or by owners, competitors, grooms, horses ,

members of the public or any other person or persons or their property at the PE Riding Club for the

duration of show. By entering this show you hereby indemnify them from any and all claims in

connection with your participation in the show.

9. Please note that all PERC arenas of are out of bounds at all times except during shows.

10. All horses / ponies that are prone to kicking must wear a red ribbon on their tails

11. No fires are allowed anywhere on the premises at any time except in the designated braai area

12. By entering a stallion at the PERC, the competitor & owner agree to the following :

Competition stallions remain the responsibility of the owner and rider at all times and are

expected to have public liability against any loss, injury or damage caused by the stallion

It is the responsibility of the owner & rider to ensure that the stallion cannot exit the stable

allocated to it on its own/or with the help of another horse or uninformed person.

The stallion may only be removed from the stable during the show for exercise, preparation or

competition & only by a responsible handler or rider.

Under NO circumstances shall the covering of mares be allowed on the PERC premises.

All stallions must wear a yellow tag on their bridles at all times.

13. All dogs must be on leads

14. PERC ground staff will close all perimeter gates as well as the gates of the stable block at the end of

each show day. PERC will not accept responsibility nor liability for any gates that are thereafter left

open by riders , owners , grooms that are sleeping in horseboxes on the premises overnight or any

other person.

It is the responsibility of all competitors to ensure they and their horses are correctly registered with all

National and Provincial bodies. All FEI and SAEF rules shall apply


PERC COVID 19 RULES AND REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL DISCIPLINES

This show will be run under Covid 19 restrictions as gazetted by the Government and SAEF guidelines in force

at the time. All persons entering the venue agree to comply with all SA Government, Minister of Sport and

SAEF Covid 19 lockdown regulations. This document must be read in conjunction with the SAEF Sport Ready,

Safe Sport Resumption Covid-19 Document. All Show Holding Bodies must comply with the Government

Gazette and approved SAEF sport ready document as issued by SAEF and set out on the SAEF website

www.saef.org.za. By submitting your entry you agree to comply with all such regulations.

More than 2 horses arriving on a single horsebox / truck will be allowed to enter and park at the

designated area, however the riders themselves will not be granted access until 45 mins before their

slot. Please only bring the minimum number of grooms.

The social distancing requirement for individuals and riders on horseback is 2m. For parked

horseboxes it is 5 m. Please tack up and untack close to your vehicle / horsebox so as to respect

social distancing requirements.

Riders will only be allowed into each warmup arena immediately preceding their round / class and

a maximum of 5 horses will be allowed in the warmup arenas at any point in time.

Riders and horses must return to their horsebox in between rounds, and for purposes of cooling down

their horses.

Where applicable, PERC will supply course builders for the main and warm up arenas. Only PERC

staff may touch or make any adjustments to the jumps and course.

Riders must provide their grooms with disposable gloves when accessing water taps or wash bays.

As per Gov Gazette No 46319 published in April 2022 , and the latest SAEF publications :

Spectating is allowed

A maximum of 2000 people are allowed at the PERC venue at any point in time, including officials,

instructors, riders, grooms, drivers, staff , parents , spectators and service providers. No vaccination

certificates nor negative Covid tests are required unless there are more than 2000 people allowed.

Masks are to be worn at all times when indoors

Medics will be on duty.

Neither SAEF, SASJ, SASA , SAEQA , ESA , DSA PERC nor any of their committee or staff members

accept any responsibility for any judge , competitor , official , groom , driver , parent or instructor

that might contract Covid 19 at any graded or ungraded show or exercise , training or practice

sessions , including Open Days and Ride and Go events. All persons entering the venue do so at their

own risk. All entries are at the risk of the Competitor and their accompanying persons

Note that SAEF Insurance will not cover anyone, should a person contract Covid-19 whilst

attending/participating in a show, hosted by the approved Show Holding Body.

All persons entering the venue accept responsibility for their own health and safety, and for that of

others ,and for complying with these regulations

We request that everyone please respect the measures put in place by PERC for everyone’s health and

safety. Please be respectful of all staff members and volunteers.

PERC recognizes its obligations to implement the statutory requirements imposed on it, specifically those

relating to Covid 19. PERC has the obligation to deny access or to remove anyone from the venue who does

not meet all Covid 19 requirements and guidelines.
