Director’s Message<br />
<br />
Sanskriti comes back every year stronger than ever. The recital is a moment <strong>of</strong> pride<br />
for all <strong>of</strong> us: the kids, parents and teachers alike. We love seeing the full year <strong>of</strong> hard<br />
work culminate into a wonderful evening with all <strong>of</strong> our superstars. After a 2 year<br />
hiatus filled with virtual performances, videos and online classes, we had almost half a<br />
year <strong>of</strong> classes in person. It was exhilarating to see the kids again, with brighter smiles<br />
and more energy than ever before. This year, as we present <strong>Rhydhun</strong>, I feel the kids<br />
have grown so resilient and strong, and the pieces look larger than life; nothing short<br />
<strong>of</strong> spectacles. A large part <strong>of</strong> this credit goes to you, our committed Sanskriti<br />
Community and all <strong>of</strong> your love, hard work and support in what we do- I couldn’t ask<br />
for a better team!<br />
The Sanskriti Arts home studio will continue to host Bollywood, Kathak and fusion<br />
dance classes in person and has supported a new phase <strong>of</strong> bigger, better<br />
collaborations and ventures. We take immense pride in announcing we will now <strong>of</strong>fer<br />
classes in Bhangra, starting with a camp in August <strong>of</strong> 2022. Sanskriti will also refresh<br />
classes for our Thornhill & Scarborough communities. Yay!

The journey to <strong>Rhydhun</strong> 2022 has certainly been an<br />
interesting one. For months, we constantly contemplated if<br />
we would have yet another virtual recital or if we could<br />
finally step foot on the stage again. We are so incredibly<br />
excited to be live and presenting on stage. I am extremely<br />
proud <strong>of</strong> my Junior and Senior Ensembles, as well as all <strong>of</strong><br />
our Sanskriti kids and adults for the effort, energy and time<br />
they have put into my dances. It is their enthusiasm that<br />
has been the driving force <strong>of</strong> this show. Seeing them grow<br />
and succeed has been such a joyful and rewarding process.<br />

I just love your kids, and I am so grateful for<br />
the opportunity to share my knowledge with<br />
them and be a part <strong>of</strong> their success stories. I<br />
always learn so much from them, and Sanskriti<br />
flourishes today because <strong>of</strong> our avid followers<br />
amidst a culture-driven community that loves<br />
and truly cares for the performing arts.<br />

Creatively, I feel very fulfilled with the way Sanskriti REEL to<br />
REAL is ready to go on stage; the songs are energetic, the<br />
costumes look beautiful, and my dancers are on fire! I am<br />
so proud <strong>of</strong> all my instructors, and truly appreciate their<br />
help and assistance with executing the choreographies. I<br />
would like to thank the Sanskriti Arts Ensemble and<br />
students for your effort, hugs and kisses, and dancing with<br />
me with broad smiles under your face masks- my personal<br />
favourites ;)<br />

I would like to emphasize that by dancing with<br />
Sanskriti, you learn to express yourself through<br />
dance, you learn to be part <strong>of</strong> a team, and shine<br />

Anisha Gopie is a<br />
dedicated senior member<br />
<strong>of</strong> the Sanskriti Arts<br />
Ensemble for about 20<br />
years. Anisha teaches both<br />
kids and adults at the<br />
Thornhill location. She is a<br />
Human Resources<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional working at<br />
University Health Network,<br />
loving mother to Neela,<br />
also a member <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Sanskriti Arts family, and<br />
Kishan, up and coming<br />
tabla player.<br />
Karen started as a<br />
Kalakshetra-style<br />
Bharatanatyam dancer. In<br />
2004, she began her<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional pursuit <strong>of</strong><br />
Bollywood dance by joining<br />
Sanskriti Arts Ensemble,<br />
Karen continues to flourish<br />
under the tutelage <strong>of</strong> Puja<br />
Amin and teaches<br />
Bollywood dance and<br />
Bollycore fitness classes<br />
both online and in-person<br />
& for corporate and<br />
community events.<br />

the best in pursuing her<br />
post secondary<br />
education in the UK next<br />
year.<br />
Sonali has an<br />
accumulating passion<br />
for dance since she was<br />
3 years old. She pursues<br />
her Visharadh in Kathak<br />
and is graduating next<br />
year. Sonali teaches<br />
Kathak to kids &<br />
students love their<br />
Sonali Didi!
Vikram is a diverse member <strong>of</strong> the Sanskriti Arts<br />
Ensemble. He has immersed himself into Kathak for the<br />
past 5 years and is a dedicated western classical singer.<br />
Nishita is graduating in Kathak Visharadh next year. She loves<br />
Assisting junior Kathakas and hopes to keep motivating them<br />
so they can grow to be amazing dancers.<br />
Jaya has been dancing with Sanskriti Arts since she was 6 and has<br />
grown to be a valuable member <strong>of</strong> the dance company also sharing<br />
her love for Kathak teaching kids classes.<br />
Jaya strives to graduate in Kathak.<br />
Ashmi is pursuing her Visharadh in Kathak and is<br />
assisting Kids Kathak classes.
