PLANNER
Prepares and thinks through the lesson in detail before
teaching it so that it has variety and there are appropriate
activities for the different learners in the class.
The teacher is acting as planner if he is responsible for
any of the following:
The course syllabus.
The selection or creation of the course materials.
The design of individual lesson plans.
Planning is the most crucial part of being a teacher, and
most teachers rely on using a teacher planner to help
them:
Daily Planning will help to inform the teacher of the
needs for the next day.
Weekly Planning will be more important and affective.
Identifying the essential parts that you need to include in
your teacher planner is a great step ahead to prepare the
best teacher planner that you can use for the whole
school year or so.

A third-grade class can have four science units: plants, animals, sounds, and colors. To teach these
subjects the teacher must prepare in advance the materials, ideas, images, worksheets that he is
going to use. Also, teachers are always looking for new ideas for the material they teach.

INFORMER
The informer teacher is the one who explains the activities to be carried out
and gives the students information that they did not have previously or
explain about the language.
EXAMPLE
When a new topic is being presented,
the teacher fulfills the role of informer,
since he will give them information on
this topic, so that they have more
knowledge.
When the learner says How do you say
"castagna" in English? and the teacher
replies “Chestnut”.
When the teacher corrects something
that a learner has said and gives the
grammar rule.

clear in directions to students, as

MONITOR
The teacher observes and listens to students walking around the room
while they perform an individual, paired or group activity. Teachers monitor
to find out what problems students are having and to identify the type of
errors they are making when producing language.

vocabulary learned therefore they
must perform a brief dialogue.

It is important that a teacher befriend
his students because students
respond better to friendship than to
authority. If the student perceives his
teacher as his friend he will not be
hesitant in airing his doubts. A friend
is someone who understands you
and someone you can depend on. If
the teacher assumes the role of a
friend, learning will no longer be a
task but a pleasure.
EXAMPLE
Teachers look after the best interests of the students. It is their goal to
raise the kids to be good citizens and good human beings.
It should be a friend to all students, it should be your guide to help you
find your true calling in life.
The teacher cares about the well-being of the students, and makes sure
that each of them is well so that they can learn better.
