Show stoppers at the 6th Filipino-Kiwi
Hero Awards this year were two
spectacular fashion shows.
The ‘HQ Fashion Show’ by Fashion
Supremo - Frances Martirez and the
‘Fashion Heroes Runway’ by seven
remarkable Filipino-Kiwi Fashionistas.
The celebrity compere for this segment
was none other than Asia Agcaoili.
FASHIONISTAS ON PARADE
The ‘Filipino-Kiwi Fashion Heroes’ is a fashion
parade by fashionistas which was launched at this
year’s awards. Below are the profiles of the models.

SHOW
One of the highlights of
the Hero Awards this year
was without doubt a fashion
extravaganza by Frances
Martirez - an awardwinning
fashion supremo.
Over the years she has
worked with some of New
Zealand’s top fashion
designers.
Frances’ stunning traditional
Philippine costumes
were paraded by 15 models
from Auckland, Palmerston
North and Ashburton.

She is a pageant
finalist.

GLORIA GARCIA:
Gloria, 53, originally from
Pangasinan, works in the
healthcare sector in Auckland.
She is a pageant winner.

expressing myself and it
always gives me confidence
once I find the perfect
combination of clothing.
If you look good, then
you will feel comfortable
and feel good both inside
and out.”
RICHIE BORJA:
Richie is from Rotorua.
She is an in demand model
and an influencer. She
loves clothes, fitness training
and the outdoors.
NILDA BROWN:
Nilda is the current
Madam World NZ and a
fitness instructor. She
donated the bouquets for
the Hero Awards.
“I designed my traditional
filipiniana dress and it
was made by Jannette
Halbach.
“The Hero Awards night
was a fantastic evening;
thank you Filipino News
for having us.”
SHAY SHINE MEDI-
NA:
Shay is a member of the
Igorot NZ group. She loves
modelling Cordillerean
fashion attire.
NICOLE DIONNE:
Nicole was a former
contestant in the Maginoo
at Binibining contest
organised by Filipino
News. She is a mother and
runs a successful online
fashion store.
