MOUNTAIN

Where'd the "The Mountain" come

from?

My father had taken me deep into

the tunnels of our mountain home to

learn how to trek the darkest of

what life has to give and my uncle

took me through

the rough mountain tops above

ground to learn how to deal with the

rough nature of the world… but to

also see the peace and stillness of

the stone and how no matter what,

the mountain stands strong and firm,

never bending or bowing against

what it believes in. I honor my clan

with such a nickname.

Rumor has it that your heart is made

of literal iron, is that true?

I am not surprised, for a dwarven heart

is strong and sturdy , the only thing

that can move or shape it is pure fire -

like passion, or brute force like that of

a smithing hammer. As for mine, when

you hold that iron bar in your hand as

you stand over the anvil , know, that is

Brone’s heart and know it’ll take great

work to move or mold it.

Are you ever going to become guild master?

*Brone bellows a hearty laugh*

No, i don’t ever think I’d sit in that chair. Too

much paperwork. But if I am ever needed to

do so for the sake of the guild, I’d think on it.


What's your role in Paradise Dawn?

I’m the Shield of Dawn. Head of the

militia , to protect the guild and its

citizens and those we swear to

protect. To fight to defend those in

need, and to fight against wickedness.

So what's next for the Mountain?

The forge will provide what is needed for

my armor and weaponry. I shall craft the

best regalia that will forever be a

remembrance to my name and the cliff

shall be known as my home growing like

a crystal in the earth to

form as my kingdom.

*Brone let’s out another hearty laugh*

The cliff is beautiful, but it needs a

dwarven touch, I may make it a fortress

in time, it’s a dwarf’s home after all

X: H-hi Ragnar. Y-you're a lot bigger in

person...

R: Hello. I get that a lot, even though I assume

most wanted posters of me has my height.

*Ragnar reaches down and pours himself some

whiskey*

X: And you know, there are actually so many

wanted posters of you. I didn't think you'd

actually come in for an interview..

R: What is someone going to do? Try and claim

that bounty? No one has come to do it yet, and

I have been living in Baska in the same hotel

and going to the same set of tournaments for

months. People had all the chances in the

world to try and fight me and they haven't yet.

So why now?

X: I dunno, maybe the rumors of Ragnar the

Red chopping people up and leaving his

enemies in a pool of blood is enough to keep

anyone away. Are you not afraid that one day

someone will come for ya?

R: Afraid? Why would I be afraid of a good

fight? Even if they beat me, it's all in good fun.

Living, fighting and dying are the natural parts

of life. No reason to be afraid of the natural

parts of life... they come for you no matter

what, so might as well greet them with a smile

and a fist as required.

X: Damn. You really are fearless huh? Well, I

guess that's one of the reasons why you were

voted the Fallen Star of this season! How

does it feel to be seen in this way?

R: That is a difficult question for me to

answer because to me, the extra fame and

prestige that comes from this isn't really the

end goal. It is a tool for me to find the next

challenge for me to overcome, and then to

continue on with that. So it feels good to

know that I have another way to have a

challenge find me, but I also don't care about

the fame or infamy.


X: I see... so would you say that's your

primary goal? Finding the next challenge?

Fighting?

R: My primary goal is becoming stronger, but

that isn't a unique goal for the people in this

field. Mage or not. Everyone wants to get

stronger or better at their job.

X: Ahh, yes yes. Power. I'd expect no less. I'm

assuming that's why you joined that new

guild- what is called? Halls of Clips?

R: *Ragnar smiled for a moment before putting his

drink down*

Halcyon Eclipse. Our guild will help anyone to

do anything for any reason for the right price. I

will work along side the Rune Knights if the

price is right, or I can be hired to burn down a

village and kill everyone in it. What village are

you from Mr. Denis?

X: *Gulps* "

haha, I'm from uh...a place far far away...haha.

W-well, that's all the questions we have for

today. Is there um...whew it just got hot in

here, haha. Is there anything you'd like to say

before we close up?

R: *Ragnar laughs before leaning forward and

giving the host a 'gentle' tap on the shoulder. *

Don't worry. I don't do that kinda stuff

anymore for free. Someone would have to pay

me for that. As for what I would say. I am

taking a vacation to the South. So I am looking

forward to that.

X: Oh great. Hopefully nobody pays you to

give me a visit...unless it's for-anyway, there

you have it folks! Ragnar is going to the South

for vacation, so all those who thinks they can

challenge The Red, you know where he'll be.

to meet you. I've heard so much about you!

Jikan: Thanks...I guess. So, you're Denis that

everyone talking about?

Xavier: Yeah, haha. I'm surprised you know

my name-- but this is about you. You've

really come a long way and so quickly I'd

say. Did you ever imagine yourself leading

one of the most infamous guilds in the

world?!

Jikan: Infamous is just a perspective. We're...more of a free willed group beyond the

normal type; just happen to like fighting. But no, always figured I would just stay by

myself?

Xavier: Ah, the lone wolf type, hm? Well in any case, congratulations, that's no small feat.

You said Infamous is just a perspective and I'm glad you brought that up. It's strange

that Sleeping Calamity is deemed a dark guild by the government, but the people of

Orchidia seem to love yall? I can't wrap my head around it.

Jikan: What would you expect? The people of Orchidia actually get to see me and

Sleeping Calamity day to day. See us respond to their needs and not just get word of

mouth from 2nd hand or 3rd hand people with agendas. We're Dark because we don't

wish to kneel to the King and his Nobles. And have no qualms about doing what we

need to get a job done or protect ourselves. Some. People just don't like that. And some

of them, have deep pockets and far reaches.

Xavier: That doesn't bother you? When I interviewed some

of people who live in Orchidia, ninety percent of them had

nothing but good things to say, but like outside of

Orchidia it seems most people know you and your guild

as these villainous mages. Some people really believe that

yall have an agenda to ruin the country.

Jikan: A warrior, a person has to live their life. Worrying

about the voices in the wind or people who are beyond

your influence or community is a waste. Ruin the country,

is uo for grabs.

Jikan: Who the country is for, who needs are

met. Who is in charge that determines these

things. Who spreads what...either way. The ones

I have under my protection, Orchidia. Thats all I

will care about. Nothing more...and nothing less

Xaver: Its rare for leaders of renown "dark

guilds" to be heroes. Your situation is a very

unique one for sure, but I definitely have to ask;

Do you ever plan on trying to register Sleeping

Calamity as a Light or maybe even Independent

guild?

Jikan: Eh, who knows...the world will continue if we do or not. And besides. A simple

registration as independent wouldn't change the eyes and voices on us in the hearts

of people. if actions of the guild or individuals didn't do anything. Then words on a

paper is as good as trash.

Xavier: You're very wise..

Jikan: ...or stubborn.

Xavier: Haha, you're cooler than I thought ya know that? Are you this cool around your

kids? You strike me as the "cool mom" type

Jikan: Ah......I...didn't think many knew about them. Well, yes I guess? Never gotten a

complaint from them so...

Xavier: How is it raising children and having a bounty on your head?

Jikan: Same as raising children and having a contract on your head. You love, you live,

you teach, and you provide. If anyone tries to hurt them....well.

Jikan: Ah yea...didnt do much in making the job of defending

the town against those dragons easier though....I got a long

way to go. A lot more of enjoyable fights to face.

Xavier: I bet. The life of a mage isn't always

an easy one. You fought off dragons, giants,

hell, even the Rune Knights at one point. Oh!

And I can't forget about Paradise Dawn!

How the heck did that happen?

Jikan: They wanted to make a name for

themselves I suppose. Bad guild in North;

we can control them type of thing I

suppose. Honestly I think it was just a thing

about them starting out in the North and

making a statement in their wish for

influence.

Xavier: Interesting... Honestly, the North hasn't been this exciting in...years. Are you

holding a grudge against them? Do you plan to strike back?

Jikan: I guess you didn't hear about that. That, already happened. And yes, a grudge is

there. Can't be all to happy with the people who destroyed the home i spent the last few

years fixing up and improving.

Xavier: I see. Well, you know there are a lot of young mages that look up to you- some

who seek to dip and dabble into the darker forces and nature and some who would

consider themselves good. What would you say to them? Any advice for the youngins'?

Jikan: Well do what you wish. If you want to seek me out or my guild, try. Won't know

what will happen until you do. Beyond that, figure out what you want in life and

yourself. And why. Then hold it close, walk towards it, and protect it

Xavier: Wise words from the Amazon herself, the Master

of Calamity! Thank you so much for coming, it really

wasn't as hard to get in contact with you as I thought,

haha! Before we go, I just need to know, what should we

expect to see soon from Jikan?

Jikan:....power. *with a fake pleasant friendly smile*
