Fluorescent Bulb and Ballast Recycling<br />
Fluorescent bulb recycling will be held in the Tractor Supply<br />
parking lot on Thursday October 6, <strong>2022</strong> - 9:00 - 1:00 p.m.. Fluorescent<br />
lamps contain mercury and are considered a hazardous waste<br />
product. It is against the law to dispose of fluorescent bulbs and<br />
ballasts with your regular garbage. This recycling event serves the<br />
residents and businesses of Martin and Faribault Counties. When<br />
transporting the lamps, be careful not to break them. There will be<br />
a charge at the time of disposal. Straight fluorescent Lamps 4' and<br />
Business Briefs are one of the many<br />

After a delay of 2 years due to the pandemic, STEP, Inc.<br />
is celebrating its 60 plus years of working to provide<br />
support, training and employment for individuals with<br />
disabilities. Organized formally in 1960, STEP started<br />
out as a parent driven service for individuals who had few other options for learning<br />
and growing. Today it provides a variety of services to over 100 individuals<br />
in Martin, Faribault and Watonwan Counties. In recognition of Direct Support<br />
Professional week <strong>September</strong> 11 – 17, STEP is also celebrating its committed staff<br />
who everyday make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities and in our<br />
communities.<br />

Bureau 14 will start meeting monthly again this<br />
month! It is one of our monthly networking opportunities for our<br />
<strong>Chamber</strong> member businesses and their employees.<br />
Bureau 14 meets on the secondWednesday of the<br />
month <strong>September</strong> thru May. The meetings are held at different<br />
chamber member locations. The meetings start off with a social<br />
hour, dinner is ordered and updates are given from: The City of<br />
Fairmont, Martin County, Fairmont Area <strong>Chamber</strong> of Commerce,<br />
Visit Fairmont and the Fairmont School District.<br />
Each meeting features a guest speaker. Guest speaker topics<br />
vary each month. Social hour hosts are an important aspect of Bureau<br />
14. As a host you have the opportunity to give a brief business<br />
update and hand out literature to attendees. If you are interested in<br />
