COMMON CAUSES
OF BRAIN INJURIES
Trauma to the brain can affect
anybody at any point in his or
her life. In general, though,
young males between the ages
of 15 and 24 are more
susceptible to brain injuries,
primarily due to some of the
risky activities they participate in
and their overall way of life.
Additionally, extremely young
kids and senior citizens over the
age of 75 are also more at risk of
brain injury.
Some of the Causes of Brain Injuries:
1. A person falling at home (particularly in the case
of the elderly, toddlers and small infants);
2. Shaking a baby or toddler in a violent manner;
3. Vehicle/motorcycle accidents; and
4. Violent crimes.
