cultural and spiritual landscape -<br />

landforms, waters, air, trees,<br />

rocks, plants, animals, foods,<br />

medicines, minerals, stories and<br />

special places. It includes<br />

cultural practice, kinship,<br />

knowledge, songs, stories and<br />

art, as well as spiritual beings,<br />

and people: past, present and<br />

future.<br />

The <strong>Blue</strong> <strong>Mountains</strong> is a special place of ancient landscapes, towering golden<br />

hued stone escarpments, crashing waterfalls and magnificent eucalypts all set<br />

among inspiring panoramas that will take your breath away.<br />

With a spectacular environmental setting, the <strong>Blue</strong> <strong>Mountains</strong> is home to a<br />

community of nearly 80,000 people living in 27 towns and villages located over<br />

<strong>10</strong>0 km of mountainous terrain.<br />

Surrounded by World Heritage Listed wilderness, the <strong>Blue</strong> <strong>Mountains</strong> is a natural<br />

wonder right on Sydney’s doorstep.<br />

With lookouts with sensational views of deep mountain troughs that seem to go<br />

forever and waterfalls large and small there is plenty of amazing things to see and<br />

do.<br />

It is one of only two destinations in the world surrounded by a UNESCO-declared<br />

World Heritage National Park.<br />
