@lfe11 Yo:rBuilt in 1925 to a design by ProfessorScott, this was initiated by Canon JamesE McKenna, PP of Dromore from 1913until his death in 1931. The large bellhas a fine tone and great clarity andwas rung for the Angelus at 7.30am,12noon and 6pm. It could be heardwell beyond the bounds of the parishin suitable weather conditions. The bellis still in use and is now operated by anelectric motor. In former days it wasrung manually by rope, one of the tasksof the parish sexton. The bell tower waspainted this year. The inscription on thebell at St.Dympna's says " St. DympnaPray for Us. Parish Church of Dromore.Diocese of Clogher. Rev. J.E.
