Diffractive elements with imaging<br />

functionality are demonstr<strong>at</strong>ed,<br />

which is achieved by local adjustment<br />

of the structure density. The<br />

elements are manufactured by<br />

ultra-precision machining, resulting<br />

in novel degrees of freedom in the<br />

design of optical systems.<br />

The system consists of a Raman<br />

probe and a spectrometer incorpor<strong>at</strong>ing<br />

the diffractive elements.<br />

3-dimensional structures can be<br />

manufactured with two-photon lithography.<br />

One of these structures are<br />

diffraction gr<strong>at</strong>ings.<br />

In addition, a Raman system for the<br />

analysis of biological and chemical<br />

substances in liquids is presented.<br />
