Wesupport housing counseling agencies inproviding virtual counseling.Illinois committed more than $325million for emergency rent and mortgageassistance—the largest housingcommitment by any state.2021ILLINOIS COMMUNITYREINVESTMENT ACT (CRA)• The Illinois CRA establishes anoversight system to ensure thatresidents are equitably served by banks,credit unions, and mortgage companies.2021LANDMARK STATEHOUSING LEGISLATION• The landmark Affordable HousingOmnibus Bill creates new resources foraffordable rental housing and propertytax policies to keep rent affordable.2022SOURCE OF INCOMEDISCRIMINATIONPROTECTIONS• Statewide protections against sourceof income discimination make it illegalto deny applicants solely for using nonwageincome (such as Housing ChoiceVouchers) to pay rent.Housing Action Illinois19
