DIY MYCELIUM GROWLAB
Substrates
CREATING SUBSTRATE MIXES
USED COFFEE GROUNDS
I collected waste from different sources, coffee
grinds from my house, sugar cane waste
collected from visit to Brazil, woodchips from
TMDC, a woodshop in Barcelona and spent beer
grains from Freddo Fox, a local brewery. I mixed
these 4 substrates together in different ratios,
sterilized them using the pressure cooker and
innoculated them with Reishi grain spawn from
Bolets de Soca, a local fungi grower. Sugar cane
grew the best by far and the fibrous nature of
the plant allowed for increased strength.
