SUBMIT YOUR ARTWORK & VIDEOS
There are many opportunities for you to earn points for your tribe,
the main one is by submitting photos and videos of you with your
tribe posters or completing challenges - get creative! To submit, get
your parents to click on ‘Chat with Us’ in the Hillsong Kids App* and
then the “Submit” button. We look forward to seeing all your amazing
work!

Part of our KIDSFEST ONLINE experience is our breakout
sessions! These are Zoom calls that are fun, engaging, safe,
and cover a wide range of interests - there is something for
everyone!
Each Zoom call will have multiple Kids leaders that are safe and approved
to work with children through our Safe Church department. Each Zoom
breakout room will have a minimum of 2 leaders to ensure safety and fun
in everything that we do.
BREAKOUTS
There are 5 breakouts for you to choose from that will be done both
Thursday and Friday so no one misses out! You can do a different one
each day to make sure you make the most of you Kidsfest experience and
try something new!
WHAT ARE THE BREAKOUTS?
LEGO MASTERS: Bring your lego skills and get ready to create the coolest,
craziest and wildest Lego builds!
KIDSFEST CREATIONS: This breakout is for the DIY lovers, crafters and
makers! Learn to make different crafts with us!
MINECRAFT MANIA: Join the Minecraft Mania breakout for some creative
teamwork, working together to build fun creations.
DROP THE BEAT: Learn exciting dance moves and get ready for a little
dance competition, the boys versus the girls!
KIDSFEST KITCHEN: Join the live baking with the Kidsfest team to create
a delicious treat!
KIDSFEST JR SHOW: A fun, interactive breakout for your 3-5 year olds,
featuring friends like Ruby, Max and Melody!
TREASURE CHEST: Am engaging and silly breakout for your additional
needs kids, featuring friends like Ruby, Max and Melody!
JUST VOLTAGE: A special breakout session with live Q&A for all our Grade
5 and 6 kids (10-12 year olds)!

KIDSFEST CREATIONS
This breakout is for the DIY lovers, crafters and makers! Get your
lab coats and gloves on, we will be creating a colourful, glowing,
and bubbling lava lamp!
LAVA LAMP
WHAT YOU NEED:
✚✚
Any kind of plastic or glass bottle
✚✚
Vegetable Oil
✚✚
Food Colouring (primary colours preferred)
✚✚
Fizzing tablets like Alka Seltzer Tablets
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Fill the bottle most of the way with vegetable oil.
2. Fill the rest of the bottle with water. The water will sink to
the bottom under the oil and look like little, clear blobs.
3. Add a few drops of food coloring; your choice of colour. The
food colouring is water-based, so it will also sink and colour
the water that is now at the bottom of the flask.
BREAKOUTS
4. Break an alka-seltzer tablet into a few small pieces, and drop
them in the bottle one at a time.
5. Watch your lava lamp erupt into activity! As the reaction
slows down, simply add more alka-seltzer.

BUTTERFLY ORIGAMI
WHAT YOU NEED:
✚✚
Origami paper or colourful paper cut into a square
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Fold your paper in half to create a mountain fold.
2. Open out and fold in half again this time the opposite way.
3. Open out and fold along both diagonals making two more
mountain folds.
4. Flip it over so the coloured side is facing down.
5. Bring the sides in to meet at the centre.
6. Fold the centre folds in and collapse down to make a
triangle. This is called a waterbomb base.
7. Fold the top layer of both corners up to meet in the centre.
8. Flip it over and lift the bottom corner up.
BREAKOUTS
9. You want to fold it past the top edge so the tip of the
triangle extends over the top.
10. Flatten the centre but not the edges of the crease.
11. Fold the tip of the triangle over and crease.
12. To finish fold the butterfly in half to shape it.
All you have to do now is find a place to display your origami
butterfly and enjoy.

MINECRAFT MANIA
Join the Minecraft Mania breakout for some creative teamwork!
We will split into breakout rooms to work together to build creations with
Kids leaders and friends, all on a secure Minecraft server. Work together
to see which team can create the coolest build!

Dance, dance into the day as you learn some sweet moves! Get ready for
a little competition, boys vs the girls!
Bring your best dance moves, wear something comfortable to dance in,
give yourself lots of space to move, have a waterbottle handy and get
ready to Drop the Beat!
LEGO MASTERS
Go head-to-head with your Hillsong Kids friends in creating the coolest,
craziest, and wildest Lego builds ever. Join Ben and Josh in the KIDSFEST
LEGO MASTERS COMPETITION and explore the infinite possibilities of
Lego!

Children should be supervised at all times while cooking or preparing food.

COOKIE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Ask your grown up to preheat the oven to 180 degrees
2. Line baking tray with baking paper
3. Put butter in microwave safe bowl and melt in microwave until
completely melted. Start with 30 seconds and continue with
10-20 second increments
4. Add melted butter to mixing bowl
5. Add sugar to mixing bowl
6. Whisk egg in separate bowl
7. Mix in vanilla extract and egg to mixing bowl
BREAKOUTS
8. Add flour and baking powder slowly to mixing bowl, stirring
continuously
9. Place mixture onto bench and knead together until smooth
10. Roll out into 1cm thick and cut into shapes
11. Cook for approximately 8 minutes
ICING AND DECORATING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Mix Icing Sugar and water together until icing sugar has fully
dissolved
2. Add a drop of your desired food colouring colour
* You can add more water or icing sugar to get your desired
consistency
3. Now its time to get creative - use your lollies/choc chips/
sprinkles or anything else to decorate your cookies! Let your
imagination run wild!

KIDSFEST JUNIOR SHOW
Kidsfest Junior is for our 3 to 5 year olds! Bring your morning tea
and join us for fun, praise and worship, craft time and a Bible story!
On Thursday, come dressed up as your favourite animal or bring an
animal soft toy. Join us for an amazing, animal-themed Ruby show
and learn with us about how God made the world!
On Friday, we’ll dress up as our favourite princesses or superheros
and have lots of fun with Max and Melody as we learn about how
God made us!
If you would like to participate in craft time, please read the following
pages and have all the equipment ready.
BREAKOUTS

JR THURSDAY CRAFT
RECYCLED CARDBOARD OWL CRAFT
WHAT YOU NEED:
✚✚
Paper – plain and/or coloured/
✚✚
Cardboard boxes
✚✚
Scissors

Colouring pencils
✚✚
Glue
✚✚
Paint is optional

And a variety of other recyclables. Be adventurous!
e.g. Buttons, bottle tops
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. To begin, create the canvas. Cut out a large oval shape from
the cardboard, making the ‘head’ area slightly larger than
the bottom. This will become the owl’s body.
BREAKOUTS
2. Decorate the body of the owl, either with paint or pieces of
magazine, or colourful pages with interesting patterns and
textures. Cut out small oval shapes and triangles.
Note: Of course, they are not limited to these shapes. They
could tear the paper, scrunch it up and simply go with their
creative flow.
Alternatively, they could also use tissue paper, sequins or
even bubble wrap to decorate their owls.
3. Next, add wings and eyes, securing with glue.
Note: As you can see in the image they have contrasted,
using the bumpy part of our box for wings and white printed
eyes from our magazine.
4. Continue decorating, sticking and painting the owls until you
feel that their owls are completed.
The Recycled Cardboard Owl Craft is now finished!

STEP BY STEP:

JR FRIDAY CRAFT
PAPER PLATE FACE
WHAT YOU NEED:
✚✚
Paper Plate (of a circle cut out of plain or
coloured paper)
✚✚
Crayons/textas/or coloured pencils
✚✚
Scissors
✚✚
Glue
✚✚
Yarns, string, pipe cleaners or strips of paper to be hair
✚✚
Optional: Googly eyes, buttons, bottle caps .
✚✚
Print out “I am Words” or you can use clippings from
newspapers/magazines or your grown up can help you
write them out
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Draw a face on your paper plate, eyes, nose, mouth. You
can be creative and colour it in, or use decorations you have
around the house, like googly eyes, cut out coloured paper,
buttons, etc. What colour eyes do you have?
BREAKOUTS
2. Find some yarn, string or anything you have around your
house for your hair. What colour hair do you have? How long
or short is your hair? Then Glue it on or colour your hair in.
3. Cut out or write the words that are provided that describe
who you are. Add another words that you can think of that
describe who you are and what you like.
4. Continue decorating, sticking and drawing until you feel that
their drawing looks like you.
Have fun and encourage your children to see themselves as
God sees them!
